Hi everybody. I am still busy on my GD entry and I hope soon to begin painting. ( time is runing out fast. ) One part of my entry is a heavily converted/sculpted Eldar avatar and I am unsure how exactly to procede painting him. I understand Avatars to have "skin of iron and molten cores" but I am interested in your opinions on a possible colour scheme. I cannot promise that I will follow anybody's advice but all input would be very very welcome. thanks Nigel

I don't know alot about the Eldar but I do know that you are right about having molten cores they are summoned through a ritual which involves fire, colurs will depend alot on which craftworld your are basing it upon but certainly I would make the inner joints of arms and legs places like that look very hot.

I think Tim is right on track with this one. I'd make the iron bits more of a black iron with white or yellow at the joints and within the eyes and mouth to represent very hot molten metal. It would allow ample opportunity for OSL as well, I would think.

yes I had thought about osl, but i dont think I will go with it. Some judges may not be fans of this technique and i like to give myself the best chance possible to win. I have a competitive streak a mile wide.

Best of luck with the competition--I'd love to see some WIP's unless this is under double secret wraps...
