I used to have four, how to draw 50, books as a kid, each book had a different subject. So one had 50 animals, one had 50 flowers, one had cars I think, and I can't remember the last one, it was most likely people. It went through step by step, layer upon layer. Almost like how to sculpt, but in 2D.
Although I would never get to the last step and finish one, i learned to quickly sketch basic shapes and poses. Which for what I do at college, is perfect, and is also a perfect start for sculpting, If I could ever be bothered to sculpt lol

Faces are hard, I used to do a lot of drawing when I was younger but I mainly copy images and find it very difficult to come up with something unique. Nice attempt at drawing a face mate. Obviously you know that there is some way to go before you get the correct result but keep practising and keep showing us your progress.

Andre looks great for first time!
Proportion is the key when it comes to drawing.
Most people (and I use the term most loosely) have their eyes ears and noses mouths in the same place. Work with a mirror and use your own face for reference. Practice. practice, practice.
I believe everyone can get to a decent drawing level (just like painting minis) becoming a Leonardo or Michelangelo well that's something else altogether!

Nice work for your first go Razh. Did you base it on a picture, or did you actually think of it yourself? If so, it's even more impressive. Not so good at drawing (quickly) myself. Cheers, Wolf Fang

I've been drawing since I was small so I don't know exactly where to start, but I'd grab a few books on anatomy and even simple 'how to draw' books. Burn Hogarth is excellent for anatomy, not exactly basic but if you're looking to learn and improve your technique not equal his work, its a great book. Start with simple structures and move on to big ones. Have an idea of how the drawing will look and map it out loosely. Draw the outlines (contour drawings) first, then add in the details. Use some heavier paper (100lb is really really good).
