Game color is supposed to withstand more handling, so if you game i'd go for Game color. Model Color has a far better range. The 2 are intermixable( i asked on CMON), so you don't have to stay only with one range. Where do you live? One of the guys at CMON sells via EBay, but i dunno if he sells boxed sets. I was also thinking of buying a boxed set but i had a few colors already and didn't want to waste money so i gave up on boxed sets. If i had to buy a boxed set, i'd go for the one with the most fleshtones.. My tuppence..

I keep meaning to get into hte Vallejo range, when I do I think I will go for the Model Colour set, I have got a site bookmarked where you can buy them from at a reasonable price, I will dig it out and put it up in here.

I've been using Vallejo's since I found out CMON (3 years ago). I used VMC and this year I bought some VGC. VGC seem to be more weak pigmented and do not cover that well in comparison to the VMC. I suggest everyone who has the option to go for VMC. I think even if you are a gamer, the good coverage can make sure you get faster results They sure are intermixable, and I've also managed to mix them with GW paints as well (both VMC and VGC). The VMC can withstand a wild amount of dilution. Hope it helps!

yes looking around on various sites it seems that model colour seems to be the preffered choice. I will look around for the best deals. Thanks all.

I have full game colour set and they're great. I got mine from here : www.em4miniatures.com/I'm keen to look into VMC but I wouldn't have the money.

I wouldn't recommend gaming with unvarnished minis anyway so I suggest you go in for Model Colors. You can always buy single VGC pots if there's certain colours you like. I have a few of those to replace certain GW paints I really like, but get the superior Vallejo pots for them instead.

Ok...I agree the idea of the Vallejo pots are superior...BUT I have had a couple of pots that the little eyedropper part pops off completely and paint comes pouring out. No fun to lose half of the contents all over your pallette..
I am considering switching BACK to GW...I always liked the paint anyhow and the flip top lids make the cemented-on lids a thing of the past...

Hmmm... yes but VMC have a better taste than GW and GW don't smell nearly as good I like the VMC pots but the explosion has happened 1-2 times

I love the smell of GW in the morning!
But you are correct, fellow brush licker, VMC does have a much sweeter taste.
Just stay away from the Winsor & Newton paint extender.......BLEECH!

I use the Liquitex paint retarder and it tastes much better than W&N. The flow-aid, however...
