A Canon Powershot A430, from Asda, for £56, reduced £20. It has a super macro, function as well as the normal macro, and takes some fab ( ) pics, here's a few I took while testing it out. Well worth the money if you have a few quid spare and are looking for a decent camera that won't break the bank, far btter than my old Sony Cybershot. Thanks Bruenor

Looking good, bruenor! Do you use a graduated(?)background or do you photoshop?

Ta.
Over the moon with it, once I get to grips with it there's no stopping me.
I use a printed graduated background, seems better than just plain white.

Very nice mate, if it wasn't for Salute this month I would have bought one myself.

I must admit this wasn't a totally planned buy, I was looking a new cameras, but decided that all the good ones were just a little too expensive. Spotting this one in Asda, was totally by chance, we saw the photolab bit and thought we'd have a look just to see, and woah!, There it was. Nearly sanpped the woman behind the counter's hand off!!!! ;D

Excellent results for mini's online, well done. For the demon you have a short depth of field which shows in the softening of the rear leg but thois is easily overcome by moving slightly away from larger minis.
I has a result too, the missus picked up a EF35mm lense yesterday for our Canon and it is razor sharp images now, so no excuses from both of us for crap photography! (just one problem, everyone will see the cock ups in painting now!)

Ha! Must paint properly now everyone can see everything FB: It should have been £76, but had the £20 knocked off, making it £56, I guess it must be the months special deal, with it being the 1st n'all, not sure how long it will be on. There was a Fuji Finepix for about the same too, but the Macro wasn't as fine as this one. By the Product Code, I guess you want the full name? Canon Powershot A430 4.0 Megapixels.

You have convinced me that a Canon is the way to go. I am looking closely at the A710....its a bit more expensive, but money burns holes in my pocket....
