Hey guys! Been quite busy lately. I recently painted up these guys for another painting contest at the local GW store. Worked on them at least 4 hours a days, and some days i put in 6-8 hours of work, sometimes 9. Totally worth it though, since i managed to win the contest! Take a look! And here is my prize! I got the new metal Doombull (it's a 42 USD prize and i got it for free ). Not the best photo, i know, but you can find a better photo on the GW site. Oh, and of course they're on my CMON page if you wanna throw it a vote

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....*stops for breath*OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You didn't go any buy those goddamn awful Minotaurs did you? Please say they were a gift from a friend who doesn't like you that much.
The paint jobs are very good, but sadly the shite scupting of the miniatures ruins them for me. Sorry mate, again spot on with the painting tho.

They are real ugly sculpts unfortunately scarecrow but a big congrats on winning nevertheless. As a critique of the painting, various elements look really cool but some smoother transitions are needed between areas of muscle definition and skin. Good job on some bad sculpts!

Seriously, though, these are very nice, SC! I really like the banner and the metallics look great. Congratulations on the win. You've proven you are a force to be reckoned with; the Trygon was no fluke!

Ha ha, calm down Bru, i didn't pay for them. My parents said they'd buy me a set since i was only a couple points shy of a perfect score on my first couple tests at culinary school, and they're impressed with how much time and effort i've been devoting to this so they wanted to reward me. Just so happened it was about the same time the contest was starting so i figured why not. So not only did i get a first set of these guys, but i got a free doombull, so i for about 80 bucks (USD) worth of models and didn't spend a penny

Congratulations on yet another win! I think the painting looks really good. The banner really stands out, and the bones and metal are well done. I agree with dfb that the muscle shadows are a bit harsh, you might try an extra intermediate step next time.Overall it looks very good!
And on a site note: When I first saw a glimpse of the models I liked them a lot. But the muscles are just off and the legs are just too fat! What amazes me is that, even though many other companies make stunning minotaurs (think Avatars of war - love that one), why does Games Workshop makes them look so...weird?

I have to re-iterate my dislike for these models. Normally most GW stuff looks either really great or pretty good, but these minotaurs are just pug ugly poor quality minotaurs. That yedharo one as well as their minotaur bust is awesome and the avatars of war of course.
Anyway, I digress, just wanted to say that you did an awesome job on that battle standard, looks really good mate - onto your next competition!!!

I think you have made a very good job out of what are absolutely terrible models from GW, Scibor is currently sculpting some very nice minotaurs so keep an eye out for them.
