Finally picked my brushes up again.....

After 6 or so months of no painting at all due to a new job, I've finally found the time to sit down and put some paint to lead.
Nothing really special to see, an old Marauder Slayer, a Shattered Isles Dwarf, and a knobrot Skaven Clanrat.

Quite enjoyed them, and was suprprised how hard I found concentrating on them.
Sadly my photographic skills haven't improved either.

Great to see some new minis from you Bruenor!
That dwarf is funny, and looks really good, especially the armour. I really like the simple, yet effective shading.
I never liked skaven, until I saw your first rat a few months ago. Your style just fits them so nicely. I really like it. The eyes on this one are amazing, very scary also.
I always like your bases, do you make them yourself? If so, mind sharing how you do the rocks?

I tend to use resin precast bases nowdays, too lazy to make my own.
The rocks are basecoated with Dheneb Stone, and then washed with Devlan Mud and Badab Black quite generously, and the drybrushed with Deneb Stone, with a very dry brush.
Then I use a bit of Thrakka Green wash to weather them a bit.
If I were to make the rocks myself I'd use small pieces of slate, as they work perfect.
