Well, he's all done and the competition is over! The plan for this competition was to pick up the model on a saturday, and return with it fully painted, built, and based the very next day. I got mine at about 11 saturday morning and spent about an hour, maybe more, building it. Sprayed with primer and then waited for it to completely dry (about an hour if you read the can) and about 3 in the afternoon, i started painting. 16 hours of painting later!!!! It's now 6 in the morning, and he's only got claws left to be painted, so i lean back for a small break and end up falling asleep for 4 hours. I wake up and quickly finish the claws and put him all together then go and take that much needed shower The photos aren't the best because of the gloss coating on certain parts, but they're alright. I was really surprised by the size of this guy too! Here's a shot of him next to a termagent model. So all this was for that painting competition and while there was a tie for second with 3 votes each, i managed to take majority!!!! My first competition ever, and i get first place! My model will also be displayed on the GW website! So proud that my model turned out this well in only 16 hours. Some one wrote on a website that they were likely to be dissapointed by the quick sloppy paintjobs that were gonna be in the short amount of time, but i think i proved them wrong (yes, i have an ego now)

Awesome! See me bow to you! Congratulations! Can't believe`you managed to pull this of, looking like that. The carapace is brilliant. My god that model is even bigger than I thought. Really well done.

Congrats on a well deserved win, SC! The first win is the hardest...
That model is huge and to finish it in one day--simply amazing. I love the color scheme.

Very well done scarecrow - lovely paint job, i especially like the double stripe down the carapace armour and the purples and reds lookly lovely and smooth. Base is a bit plain, but it looks good and in the time you had i m sure it wasn't a priority to be worrying about that!!! BiIG congratulations on the win, it looks like a really nice trophy to!! Post up the cmon link and lets get voting!!!!

Thanks everyone. As dfb said, i posted him on CMON, so heres the link: coolminiornot.com/241574@magie: I was shocked at the actual size of this thing! Just putting it together took roughly an hour, probably more! It even used up almost all of my black and purple washes >.< @dfb: No, i didn't want to get too elaborate for the base since it was probably my least concern so i threw some sand, flock, slate pieces, and a couple resign basing bits to add some character to the base, but not draw focus

Very cool, and gratz on the win! Crazy of you to try something that big in such a short time, but you've pulled it off well. Not keen on the inside of the mouth colour, but contrasts well with the rest of the mini.
