I've been gagging to paint this exquisite sculpt for a long time. It would be difficult to do something original with the amount of wonderful renditions out there, so let's try! Pics still not my forte Comments greatly appreciated d

Gotta go with Andre on this one, that's an amazing figure so far, the freehand patterns especially. I quite like the basing too, though it's a very quick change from old/dieing to green and healthy. Looks outstanding all round though

I like it so far the chest plates and scale mail are looking wonderful. I would add some more contrast to the metals just to make them pop a bit more. Looking forward to seeing how this one progresses.

lovely mate, stunning freehand patterns! the bas elooks promising aswell! May I ask how you painted the armour? there are so many different layers and washes of a multitude of colours i wouldn't know where to begin! i like how the small plates turned out irl, they are all done individually (sad, i need to get out more!!!), so sorry andre i can't answer that one. Tim, i agree on the pop value, especially on the breastplate methinks but i'll leave the skirt for now, i dont want to overwork it here are some extra views. ps scarecrow, i never noticed that about the base but you are right, however in Ireland it is constantly like that!!!

Jesus dennis - you just got back and have given us three pieces of stunning work already! This figure is fantastic - the armour looks great, really nicely shaded, some lovely colours on the freehand work and the bloody base is awesome - the turf looks very realistic and varied and is nicely set against the colours on the figure to make it pop out!! Great stuff and I'm looking forward to seeing this one done.

The newer pics show the mini in a better light i think, one thing that stands out to me on these views is that the armour plating of the feet needs to be darklined to give more definition inbetween the plated layers other than that fekkin A+

Fantastic basing...and armor...and freehand... WOW!
Nitpicks...hmm...I think Tim's point on the feet is well taken. I'd like to see just the faintest hint of some additional darklining underneath the sash around the waist. The gemwork is very good, but IMHO needs to be darker yet around the white light reflection point.
