There is no doubt about it... I am actually insane. Certifiable. Here is the 500 (497) point Ogre Kingdoms Army list: Ogre Bruiser (w/heavy armour, great weapon) = 142 points 6 Orge Bulls (w/ cmd grp, ironfist, light armour, lookout) = 313 points 20 Gnoblars (w/ groinbiter) = 42 points So, here is some background: Galf Tradebasher, a ruthless ogre with a ruthless reputation, has settled on robbing caravans on the great trade route that travels from the old world to far Cathay. He and his band of Basher's have made quite the life for themselves, growing somewhat wealthy off the spoils. And, some starter pics. Any tips on color choices?

Ok, quick update. Thanks to all of you that noticed the mould lines... I have removed them and applied the base to bring the paint back up again. Also, worked up a base for this guy...

Got the stripes on the pants done... anyone not happy with purple and white (khaki)? Also, trimmed up that mold line a bit more.

OMG, you have so many well-painted armies. Where do you get the time? Are they all for your own collection? You definitely have your own distinctive ' touch' , which is very nice to see! When I have more time, I will take a closer look at all your other armies.

Ok, the weekend leaves us still unfinished on the first ogre. I started on the guy plate, but I just am now sure if I like it. The two boxes are supposed to be an ogre glyph for traders, and the red mountain in the background is the ogre strength over the traders. Sounds good, but looks like rubbish in my opinion. Also, I used red for the tattoos (sort of like rubbed on blood), but I don't think it contrasts enough. And, I am not sure I like using the shapes that I am using, they look a bit like a pre-schooler drew them. So, take a look at the painted gut plate. Then look at the two shield patterns (disregard the mould lines and paint job on the model, he was painted long ago) that I may tack on to the shield and let me know which you like the best. Or, a better idea. MaGie: Thanks. I just paint whenever I get the chance... though sometimes that is only a few minutes a day or a week.

Ok, some little progress with the ogres this week. I have decided to attach random articles to the gut plates, like individual trophies. Here is the bellower: and here are the next two in the queue: And, an army shot thus far... Thus far I am considering the GW Empire Maneater as my boss, but if anyone has any other suggestions, I am still open to them at this point...

Nice work I particularly like the human flesh tones on the Ogres, I have shed loads of these things to paint but can't find the inclination to do them. One day I may take the plunge and do them and if I do I would also go down the same route as you with the skin.

I seem to always miss your updates. The link to the project wips somehow doesn't catch my attention enough. I really like the tattoos, makes the ogres look very tribal. I really like the skull with the crown in front of the belly plate. Would you mind sharing where you got it from? The command guy with the cape looks very good. I do wonder if the swords would get in the way while walking. And what is that white jellybean on the base? Keep it coming

Amazing work for a unit, on the tat's imho they are way to bright, i would dull them with a wash but still think they are a must

Not a huge update folks, but an update nonetheless. I have based and primered all 6 of the ogres, and did the skin on the unit boss. Also, I am pretty sure that I am decided on using the tyrant model from GW as the hero, just because he looks tough as nails. dennis: I will give the wash a go... magie: The jellybean will be a rock. The shield came from the 6th edition games workshop empire troops regiment. Tim: I just always pictured them as oversized, brutish, stupid humans.

Alright, I am guilty, skin is in this week. Did the skin on the ogre tyrant... I will likely go back in and do some blue and red shading in some places (eyes, lips... maybe a cut here and there)...

Very nice looking skin and you made it quite smooth. The hands almost look like they should have a few more line around the knuckles to show a bit more age. That's probably just me though Can't wait to see more
