This year, as many of us here know, scandinavia has suffered a miserable winter, skiing has been rubbish except in the furthest north and everyone has been generally downbeat So in my latest oil i've tried to capture it.... the image is from Tryvannstua, a lake i ski over in winter, but not so much this year... title; ether song, not trying to be prententious, it's just a melancholic album i listened to a lot while painting this.. hope you like!

That is very atmospheric mate, the mood of the painting is very sombre. I love it.

Thanks for all your supportive words.... i'm working on a new series inspired by this painting called 'I see Trolls', it's more abstract but the idea is the dark imagery of the forests will allow the viewer to imagine they see other 'things'! I promise to post them here soon

Wow! Just awesome! The painting is jus amazing, it looks just like a photo I have some great memories from Tryvann. My grandfather used to take me there when I was younger. Though I don't remember it as sombre as this ;D I really like the limited use of colours, and the way you have painted the fog. Now I think I have to go up there really early (and when it is foggy) to see this IRL. It's just so beautiful........

Bloody amazing. I wouldn't even be able to do that after 50 years of practice. Captures the atmosphere just perfect. Cheers, Wolf Fang
