Hello everyone! Finally I've finished the empire wizard. I re-painted the scythe. I hopes it sort of looks like NMM   I would love to hear what you think of it. Any tips for improvement are very much welcome. I also put in on CMON, here is the link www.coolminiornot.com/218560Thanks! |

Oh yes, this is superbly better! Really impressive job there MaGie. Eyes look a little funny there though - did you just black them in? Scythe looks like nmm now and the roses add some nice colour to it. Im going over to cmon in a mo so i 'll vote for it. Cheers.

The eyes are black indeed. I glossed them up so they look like black marbles, but unfortunately it doesn't show on the picture. In retrospect, I believe I should've just painted normal eyes. But after assembling it was quite hard to make changes.

Looks great!!
My only 'thing' is the black cloak looks like it could do with a highlight or two.
The black eyes thing can be remedied easily to stop them looking unfinished with a tiny white dot in the centres....kinda like a white pupil.
Like the roses and the scythe!!!
Nice piece overall!!

Sorry it has taken me a bit to reply, Magie. Lovely piece of work! The scythe is especially well done. The blending is very nicely done, although I think you could have take the highlights up a bit more. I'd agree with Bru on the black robe as well. I am jealous--you seem to have a natural knack for this painting business and are really making excellent progress!

Fantastic job there Magie! Not much else to add that others haven't already except that your skills are sky rocketing (and yes, i am jealous >.<). The idea behind the "marble eyes" is a fantastic one. Shame that the photos don't do it justice, but over all, superb work!!
