Great definition on this sculpt from GW, it really made painting a breeze and that little bit more enjoyable. I'd highly recommend this mini if you are not long painting and would like to progress with new techniques etc. There is plenty of smooth spaces, large well defined areas and details, so go for it... enj :)y

Looks amazing! The blade is perfect, so are the colours. And the base really complements the mini.

Really nice, I like the softness of the tones you have managed to achieve on this mini.

Thanx to you all for your kind words, as Tim said, I really enjoyed going for a subtle look, no major hotspots or strong lighting I was surprised it came across so well in the pic, but i've only just learnt how to use the macro, wow it helps ! I'm now working on a Dark Sword Ranger I hpe to post soon, I will be trying a new methodology with him too, some tips I think are great from an article recently posted by automaton on CMON. @ Andre, I think he is still available by mail order only @sacrifice, the blade was based in a dark mix of scorched brown and chaos black, then 'wet dry brushed!?!' with boltgun metal. By wet drybrushed I mean using a well diluted boltgun meta, draining it of an a cloth and lightly passing the brush over the entire area. Then I gave it a wash from the base mix. The highlights are built up from very dilute mithril, and then a little orange was added to the wash and built up in the darker areas. A final wey drybrush on the dark area with boltgun and hey presto;)
