So i took a little break from the battle for skull pass set (dear god that's a lot of models ) and finished up my terminator. Since i don't have much 40k models, i figured I'd have some fun with this one and play around with the color scheme a bit. I was thinking of putting some sort of pattern on the helmet but I've ruined models that way so i decided against it. I've also come to the conclusion that his power fist arm hates me because it kept jumping from my hand. One unfortunate event occurred when the pain in the butt arm decided to jump into an open paint pot. Yeah, the pots with the one inch wide hole in the top, it managed to land in the tiny hole, coating it in gold and causing me to panic. Let me know what you think
Since Jabberwocky (thought it would be a nice touch to be green) was so nice to point out the shaded gold, i do kind of want to explain what i did. It was really simple actually, just a base of shining gold, highlights with burnished gold, and then a wash of gryphonne sepia. Very simple effect though it didn't get the result i wanted to the helmet so i used a different way. It was a base of shining gold, highlights with burnished gold, a watered down wash of Baal Red, highlights with shining gold and very fine highlights with burnished gold. Very fun to do but a tad time consuming, though i think worth it. Anyways, there you go, whether you wanted to know or not
I also managed to find a way to take photos in my room so i don't need it to be sunny day outside, which is good considering its getting into the rainy season and it spent most of the day raining.
