Did this as a tester mini for a prospective client, who wanted the scheme above. I think it turned out quite nice all in all. (and no he didn't want the lava highlighting on the legs )

Very nice work on this one, Bru! The lava effect is excellent. Are you planning on doing some OSL?

Nice work mate, that lava base is something else. Jusat a shame you didn't remove all that mould line running along the top of the force polearm.

nice stuff bru! very neat and tidy, would look great in a whole squad! did u do the lava urself or is it a resin base?
only thing id suggest is pushin some purple washes into the brass, and some green/red washes into the silver...
nice stuff!

Thx.
Ot's a resin base, but could easily be reproduced with cork tile bits. The brief holds me back on certain lvls, had decided on a higher paying lvl for the mini, when I do the full orders, then I would have taken the metals a step further.

How did you do the metals Bru? There is a lovely blue tinge to them, was it a wash?

Theres a little of the new blue wash thinned into the black wash, and slighty again over the finished metals.

nice work mate, what colors did you exactly used on the lava and I believe the technique is what they call reverse shading ?

Thx,
I undercoated the base with white, the washed the lava areas with Yellow Ink, (you coud paint them yellow if you have no ink), then painted the rocks Blood Red and washed a thinned amount of Blood Red over the yellow, once dry I worked back through the GW Oranges and Yellows upto Bad Moon Yellow, and then added final stripes of Skull white for the hottest parts. The Rocks were Dry/overbrushed with Scorched Brown, the Lightly with Chaos Black, and finally very lightly with Codex Grey for a little ashen effect. Doing it this way, and don't be too tidy with it, as you want some of the Blood Red to show through. Then finally drybrushed the edges of the rock near the lava with orange, for a little osl.
