As the title says this mini is now done, though I may go back at some point and just adjust one or two things I am not totally happy with but for now that is that. This is actually the first of Steve's sculpts that I have painted but it definitely won't be the last. I decided to give him a little shadow to his head and upper lip just to show that he has been up a while, the base is a rather nice one from Tins Bits and i think came out ok. This is my first real go with the new Citadel washes on the metal areas and also alot of the base work was done with them. The blood drops on the base were done with the washes to start and then finished with inks to make them a little shiny as I wanted the blood drops to look fairly recently deposited. Hope you like it.

Another excellent piece! I like the five o'clock shadow very much. The blood is a nice touch, although I think I would have missed it had you not brought it to my attention.

Beautiful. Over the last few years you have refined a most definite style, clean, subtle and most evidently Tim My only gripe would be the contrast defining the skull, particularly the right hand side, however this appears to be more of a sculptural issue which I think I would have stressed a lttle less. Great work as ever.

it is a excellent mini, seeing the base in wip i wasnt too sure about it but seein it finished, it looks great, very dark and cave like, as for the mini itself, it is very nice i cant failt it, only possible suggestion is to push some blue/purple into the shadows on the robes and the temple of the skull, just to deepen the shadows and harmonise the colours, but i think thats more personal preference than anythin...
ur heading to platoon britannia meet and gduk tim?

I have been a couple of times before and I really don't enjoy the "in your face" aspect of the GW staff and alot of the gamers too are just as bad. It is good to look at the Demon entries but I can do that on line after the event and as for the minis I can get GW produce anytime I like and I am never that desperate for their minis that I have to goto GD to get the early releases for Games Day. Add that to the fact that I think it is overpriced for what is basically a GW showcase of look at our stuff and they are my reasons for not attending. I would rather pay alot less and go to events like Salute where there is alot more choice of minis and mini associated products to look at including GW and Forgeworld and have a much more enjoyable day.

I totally agree, over the last 2 years iv seen the quality of GW's products drop and their prices increase and GD is very much a market stall for GW to shout about how great they are. i only use the event to get a benchmark of how much iv improved and how much more improvement i need to do.
u not thought about heading over to GD paris? i know that events very different

There are one or two international GD's that I would like to attend the Paris one being one of them but so far time and money has always been against me for that. One day maybe.

I too would agree with you Tim. It is no fun having to get up at 5am to get there by 9 in order to get a parking space and then spend just two hours in a rugby scrum for the forgeworld stand. Salute and Colours are much better events and the food and drink are reasonable too.
