I've picked up a few terrain bits via eBay over the last few months, mainly Forge World pieces. I've also come across a lot of other stuff, that is the same scale and fits in really well. Since I started painting the odd bit of wall, I've quite enjoy using a large brush and being able to finish a piece in an evening with a very limited palette. Here are some of latest plus some I prepared earlier to follow. I'm forever adding things to so called finished models; like camo nets, barbed wire and boxes, so any suggestions for improvements would be most welcome. A basic FW Pillbox, just the right size for hiding a small doughnut, for that mid game sugar rush! Added a bit of 'medical gauze' camo net and some 'Googled' propaganda posters: At some stage I want to build this into a a piece of terrain so that it looks less like a lunchbox. Another FW Pillbox: This one came with some nice heavy bolters that would look good on a vehicle IMO. Third and final one for now, don't know what make this is; it's a lot smother cast than the FW stuff and had no moulding lines, it is also quite heavy. I added the external ladder and the wire, plus a bit of basing materials to roughen it up a little:

As always, top notch stuff, Ash. Truly inspirational the level of realism with these pieces.

What Jabber said, your terrain is always excellent.

Thanks guys, your feedback is always much appreciated. I'm quite within my 'comfort zone' with regard to bits like this, spray it black then shades of grey for concrete and shades of brown for the dirt. I'm quite sure that if I tried painting something with bright colours like Eldar the results would be less pleasing and I'd enjoy it less. So I'll stick with my ever expanding 'grim' Imperials. Heres a few picture of the GW barricades set that came out with the Cities of Death stuff: The lightings a bit harsh, as I was playing around with flash, next time I'll go back to something softer.

A few more bits and pieces: Some dragons teeth: A small generator, makes a nice objective or something to hide behind: A Pegasus models snap together plastic bridge, great piece of kit:

#More cool stuff Ash. The rust on the bridge is fantastic. Well it all is to be honest but that is the stand out piece of the latest photo's for me.

Thanks guys; for the most part it's all a very basic palette of colours and a lot of dry brushing with very thin washes of dilute paint. The rust is Vallejo 150 'German Cam. Black Brown', fantastic stuff, I poached the idea from an article in AFV modeller magazine, when it first goes on it looks like mud, then dries to a shade that looks just like weathered bare metal, before it goes rusty. The paint also makes a great wash, as it's darker than a brown, but has less of a key lining effect of black. Prior to the 'BlackBrown', I tend to paint on a lighter shade of something different, to act as an outline for where the 'chips' are going;eg if it's a dark green I use a sand yellow. The darker colour(the BlackBrown) goes over the lighter (sand), leaving a bit showing around the edges. From a suitable distance it sort of looks like under coat showing through and gives a bit of depth to the damaged paint. The rusty look is just a very thin wash of Vallejo 136 'Red Leather' paint. You can water this stuff down a lot, so it's great for making streaks or pooling it around bolts/rivets etc. I did quite a lot of 'chipped' paint on the bridge as it was a good way to hide all the missed moulding lines that I failed to remove properly.

Thanks for the tip on the rust--you do some of the best weathering I have seen.

Thanks for all the encouraging comments guys, much appreciated. @chemicalcaveman: That would be eBay, just be careful it's addictive. I've chucked some paint at this and done some wear and tear. It just needs a few details and some weathering.

It funny how things look different in pictures, but after looking at this on a screen I realised I haven't chucked any mud on it!
