I am a big Science Fiction fan I love the escapism from real life I also like well made action movies, I recently got the Rambo Trilogy as a birthday present and I love all three of the films.

I am a big sci fi fan. I love em all. Comic book adaptations are another favourite aswell, I was a forbidden planet geek in my younger years. i cannot stand period pieces, and modern day sentimental trash. As for Tv I HATE the bloody soaps, life is depressing enough sometimes without seeing more of it as "entertainment" Oh also on TV i love cbeebee's as I have a very young son and it givesme a few minutes of peace. Oh and martial arts films. Fantastic!!!

I recently watched Munich, about the Olympic team that were murdered in the Olympic village and that film is abxolutely fantastic. I also just saw Munich but I can't say I feel the same way about it. I guess it may be partially due to me thinking the movie took place during the attack, but I don't know. I found it really slow, and hard to get into. It was well done and well made but I just didn't really feel it.

In general I'm also a science-fiction and fantasy fan. I like movies that say something, has a good story or make me think. Sometimes I even like action movies. Some examples of my favourites: - Star wars, the original series (episode 4-6) , the new ones didn't convince me that much. - The LoTR movies, absolutely love them - Equilibrium - 12 monkeys - The crimson rivers - American Beauty - Jarhead ... and so on Soaps in general I hate too, but there are a few series out there that I like. Some examples would be Twin Peaks, The 4400 returnees, King of Queens. One season of 24 I also watched through. Munich I haven't seen yet, but I plan to do so. Ah, and all kinds of Monty Python movies, series, of course

Serenity/Firefly
Good & Bad sci-fi, but not bad that thinks it is good.
a good war movie is usually worth a watch or re-watch.
Almost anything with John Wayne.

I'm a big fan of classic movies, and I am always happy to visit the US because of the Turner Classic Movies channel. -Casablanca, one of the best films ever -Citizen Kane -The Adventures of Robin Hood (The original with Errol Flynn) -Metropolis (absolutely stunning and has influenced movies ever since it's release in 1925) -Fritz Lang's "M- Ein Stadt sucht ein Mord" also a classic. Too many to list, but those are the ones that I can watch over and over. Lots of new movies as well, but I'm particular to the Coen Brothers films as well as Quentin Terentino. Ang Lee films are great fun, and I love some of the new Chinese flicks. Stanley Kubrick, everything! I just watched Dr. Strangelove again and that film is timeless. I seem to be burnt out on all of the big Hollywood films, so I tend to avoid anything that has Tom Cruise, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Keanu Reeves and refuse to watch anything with Julia Roberts I did enjoy LOTR, as well as the Matrix films (well number one at least, why do they have to make sequels?) and can sit through any number of variations of the Comic book films out (I recently saw V for Vendetta, really well done movie.) I think one of the most impressive movies that I have seen over the past year was "Good Night and Good Luck" Brilliant on all accounts (writing, acting, directing, cinematography, sound, costuming, sets... just spot on!) and I recommend it highly for anyone who likes the whole art of movies as well as an amazingly deep story. TV? Don't have one, but I have a small collection of DVD's which consist of old movies As well as the three pillars of late 20th century American culture. Simpsons, Star Trek TNG and South Park. Add some Fawlty Towers, Monty Python and the occasional BBC program, it's better than TV... no commercials. I only wish that I could get my hands on some of the original Goons series. I better stop. Thanks for starting this thread, I'd never thought about this before.

My favorite movies would be anything that my GF likes But I do enjoy watching war-movies; Enemy at the Gates, Saving Privet Ryan (great movie), Bridge Over the River Quie (sp??), We where solders, A few good Men, there are more but those are some of my favorites. Than there are the Sci-Fi movies; Starship Troopers (great movie), SW I like all of them but Episode 3, LOTR duh’, V for Vendetta, hmm and again there are more but I can’t think of any right now. Now there is one more branch of the movie industry that I am unashamed to say that I like watching, Chick Flicks, yes I enjoy watching a good Chick Flick, note I have only cried at one before and that was just briefly, but the ones I enjoy most are: A Walk to Remember (that is the one I cried in, Something’s Gota Give, Sweet home Alabama, The Notebook. Now these are movies I don’t know where to put but where good; What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, From Benny to June (I think that is the title?), Secret Window (Hmm maybe I should put these in a Johnny Dep Category?) Pirates of the Caribbean, Once apone a time in Mexico, Kill Bill 2 (Hate 1), Doom (it is good no mater what you say ) Gladiator, any Monty Python movie, Grave of the Fireflies (I cried in this one too), Serenity (Great Movie), well that about raps it up for movies… Now for TV… I am a MTV junkie I will tern on MTV when I wake up and sometimes watch whatever crap they show all day. I also like The Simpsons, anything on Adult Swim; Futurama, Robot Chicken, Family Guy… Than there is the old Robotech series (I have all of them on DVD and the movie that came before the series), I also like GPX Grand Pre on cartoon network and Naruto on cartoon Network (I started watching them because of my little brother, and now I Tvoe (sp??) them to watch after my brother goes to sleep, cant have him knowing that I think his shows are cool ), than there is Firefly, Anything on Comedy Central (I’ll usually have it on MTV and Comedy Central just jumping back and forth) well that is it, wow I watch a lot of TV and Movies… And I wonder why I never have time to paint minis.

Movies: Generally I fall into the Sci-fi-fantasy range of movies (aliens, chronicles of riddick, LOTR, Star Wars.... Occasionally a horror film...But I prefer 'movie' monsters (like vampires, werewolves, etc) to the current crop of 'psycotic crazed humans'. I like well made films of all genres. I like quirky movies as well...."Lost in Translation" for instance, was wonderful.
I find it extremly funny on what my neighbor will tell me is a great movie to what I think a great movie is. For instance he thinks "Joe Dirt" was hilarious, yet chewed me out for recommending "Master and Commander"....
Television wize....I don't watch much 'normal network programming'...I tend to watch the Discovery channel for shows like "Dirty Jobs" or "Mythbusters". I've been watching a lot of the cooking channel lately....I like to have the television on when I paint...and usually a cooking program is something that doesn't pull my attention away from what I am doing.
