Hi all! don't know if anybody has noticed but I've been "away" from the world more or less for a week, "that's not a lot" you might say but for me it is... and there has been several reasons to that one being me working A LOT... and that my grandmother (on my mother's side) passed away last monday. to make long story short: me and my brother lost our mother 10 years ago, and her father (our grandfather) passed away a couple of years before that. that left grandmother alone and devistated and soon she became very ill with allzeimer and has been sitting/lying in a nursing home the last 4-5 years. and now when she finnally passed away, good bless her soul, I kind of hit a wall and all of these repressed feelings came up to knock me down. I've been home for a week now, just sleeping and not communicating with no one but my family ... well let's say I'm kind of blue and trying to slowly crawl back to life. not so much painting done but eventually I will and when I do i will show you all. cheers everybody, Zappy

I had noticed you hadn't been about but that is perfectly understandable considering the circumstances, take your time with it mate and come back when you are ready. It is never easy losing someone especially someone close.

Thanks for all your thoughts guys... It's been allmost 2 months since I posted anything and it's kind of hard starting up... in swedish it's called "ringrostig" =hard to start all over. I've been lurking from time to time but felt strange about talking to anyone, just wanted to be left alone - so to speak. Haven't painted or been doing anything hobby-like. Have been working like a mad man, and think it's my way to cope sometimes... Don't know if I've told anyone what I'm doing for a living? I own and run a computer/hobby-store including a webshop nowdays together with my best friend. And during june we relocated our shop to bigger and better facilities, wich of course has been taking a lot of my time. It's been work - getting home - food - work - and sleep all day long. Finally I'm getting closer to my well earned vaccation... 4 weeks of rest and just my self and family. Starting out with a week in London beginning from this saturday, 2nd of august. Hopefully I will get my arse out of the wagon and pick up my brushes again. About London: are there anyone with any tips on good hooby/miniature shops to visit? or other things to see... it's been many years since I visisted last time. well I'm back anyhow, so cheers to everyone on WoM!

On the hobby front the only thing I can think of that may be of interest is GW Hammersmith, not because its a great store but because it was the 1st GW store opened by Steve Jackson & Ian Livingstone. So in many ways is the birth place of much of the hobby. I am sure other wargamers may argue otherwise As a Londoner the only thing I would recommend is the London Eye. Have a great trip and some well earned rest.

Have a good time in London mate plenty of things to see depending on what your interests are, I hope the weather holds up for you. It is a shame I am so far away from there you should catch a train up to the midlands and come and paint with me and Bru. There is a place called Orc's Nest but I am not sure as to whereabouts that is. A quick google search should pull it up for you. One of my favourite places in London is the Cabinet War Rooms, I really like it there very atmospheric.

thanks for the tips guys! and Tim I will surely have a look at the Cabinet war rooms, seen it before but that was like 20 years ago... one of my absoluty biggest interests are WW2 and it's history so I will try to make some museums as well. unfortunately I don't think I can come and visit you guys - it would have been a blast to meet you and sit down and paint. I might be back for another time and some convention or something and then I will take you up on that offer.

If you love WWII then you really must get to the Imperial War Museum also if you ever get the chance go to Weymouth and the Nothe Fort. That is awesome.

Imperial War museum is on the list. Been there before but that was in 1983-84.. . I think. Well I'm in London now guys, have so far visited the Towern and ods and bits of the town. Still have the war things to go to. have located the Orcs Nest so there I will be going. It's pretty warm with ocational rain, but it's London and that to me is equal to rain Gonna take a peak at the GW-shop as well if I find it...

thanks. Well guys... been to the Imperial War museum and felt like a little boy, taking a looooooot of pics on things. but I must say it dosen't beat being on the cliffs of normandie looking at the armada aproaching.. .. (well so I imagined it)... that is like being in the middle of history, where it all happened. Located and went to the Orcs nest, a very nice little botique with a lots and lots of RPG and a little but nice selection of minis. Picked up some Reaper and some other brands I don't remember right now. Went to a GW-store as well, nothing I haden't seen and had a smaller line of GW-minis than I have in my store this wasn't "The One" - i.e the first one and now there will not be time to visit one more... and to be honest I don't think the rest of the family will bare with me on that one... well only one more day to go in London, gonna visit the British Museum and some closer shops on the last day, by walking as our tube-cards have run out. oh, I forgot to mention that I visited a hobby shop called Modelzone - a great visit where I bought some stuff as well, Tamiya clear red and some MiG Pigment sets as well as some other stuff. I begining to long for home and some painting time.

Nice to hear you have enjoyed your time here mate, Modelzone are a good shop to go to for stuff like the MiG pigments and Tamiya paints too. I always seem to spend more time looking in the cabinets at all the cool stuff they sell in there though.
