thought id lob this up before i went to bed, get critque on it while i sleep, am making the effort to try a more realistic style with this peice, i want to try and push the contrast on his chest, although iv had a bit of a mare with pushin the highlights, couldnt get the colours to work and I dont want to add any more as am risking the paint goin chalky, so ill be puttin a few darker washes on his lower pecs to attain the contrast that way. Had a go at chest hairs, dont think they came out too bad, although i prob should have waited for my new 5/0 brush and had a bash at using oils to do em :-P , but ill save that for next time. i know the pics arnt great, but if u can see any flaws i can iron out let us know so i can sort em. Cheers guys

Skintones are spot on for the chest. I think the chest hair came out looking very good.

I like it so far, not sure about the face yet but I am sure it will all come together when the facial hair is done and there is a shadowline around where the skin meets the helmet. I like the dark skin tone you have going on there but I do think that a little further highlighting (not too much mind) on the high points would certainly help to make it pop.

update for today... nice, simple and straight forward. tried some new colours for the red, really enjoyed it, i really like the way its turned out, will use again  gunna have a look at it in proper daylight, i may put a few washes on it to smooth out a few bits, considering further highlights. i think he really is coming together now :-P anyways, any ideas for the back/underneath? i was just gunna painting it black and prob sign it but am open to suggestions also, any ideas where i get a Nice Cob of Wood like this? been around all the art shops and hardware stores in town and cant find nothin, theirs a few interesting carving/turning wood bits on ebay, just not the quite the right sizes, i know Andrea minis do stuff like it, just wondering if their were anyones got any more sources?

That looks great! Really impressed with the skintone and the reds really did turn out well.
Not sure about the underneath though, how visible is it normally?

Great bit of work on the helm. The subtle patina blue green looks very good. I would go with straight black. May be a bit easier to photograph. My only critique at this point would be to go back over the reds. It looks like some of the painting from the helm has gotten onto it.

Looks great mate, something to be proud of that. I would go with the falt black too, the black/white doesn't photo that well. Maybe just line in the inside of the helmet to add shadows too.

Looks really good to me. My only criticisms would be the beard and crest look like they could use a bit more shading or highlighting to define them, but other than that it looks great, I think the skin looks great.
