I like it, I think that the chainmail could be a bit more defined (the linkage) but it may be the way it has come out in the photo, another thing the belt and the strap for what I think will be the scabbard look a little narrow. Still another cool bit of sculpting work.

I'm sure the chain mail is just the picture, its fine in real life. as for the belt-it really was quite thin, about the width of a finger on armor (probably because it didn't really need to hold anything up) and I made it that way on purpose. Have a look- www.brianbero.com/german_gothic_md.jpg

No offence intended there mate, I always look at things from a painters point of view I think I would struggle to be able to paint that belt the thickness that it is. No question of your historical correctness.
