I hate having to repeat this but noone seems to realise how cheap it is.... Artists acrylic 'raw umber' + skull white= kommando khaki more = graveyard earth + red = red gore +_ more = scab red All your colours can be made from secondarys + either raw umber or for cold colours paynes grey, and you will have a much larger selection... why do you think GW DON'T SELL raw umber! It is the artists best friend, it is the only decent medium to realism and for gods sake please give it a try... it changed my life.. and it's only a pigment! the cheapeat pigment you can buy

Certainly when I run out it is a definite methid I may try.

Quick update, I got a little more done today, namely the rest of the face mask, also did a bit of work on the backpack more on that another day. I am alos planning on doing a display base I have a couple of bits of Forgeworld ruined scenery that will work a treat on a dislplay base of some kind.

The trousers don't look quite so plain IRL but I may give them another highlight stage on the very edges of the folds maybe.

Looks great, Tim. I like the mask, especially the goggle parts, and the shine on those shells.

Ok so a little bit closer to completion now, the knife blade does not look as rough in real life as in the pcture but I will probably go over that again and try and make it more natural or maybe just stain it a little with gore. If anyone knows what that thing at the bottom of the backm pack is then I would love to know. As an ex-army guy I know what used to be there on my webbing set up but I have no idea what this is.

Aye, it would be a good subject to do as we would all improve on our Orks for the CiN project.
That reminds me, I still have to do my bit... I can just never seem to get round to buying 'em and I don't think I'd have time to paint them ATM with exams in a week or so but I'd feel really bad if I bailed out of this as it is for a good cause...

I have got the actual Ork done now and all that remains is the base, I still haven't got a definite plan of how I am going to go about this yet. I have the resin bases that Spacemunkie did for the project and will if feasible use them but this ork's wide pose with his feet eill make fitting him to one difficult. Anyhow here are the pics Now on to no. 2

I have had a day off Scrunts today, with time fast slipping away I thought it about time I made a start on more CiN stuff, so here is the next of the Orks from the squad I need to smooth out the skin in a couple of places and I may yet give it another gree glaze to tone it down a bit, but then some variation will be good. The skin is the worst bit on these so I should make some real progress now.
