Ok no pics in the first post as I have been struggling with photobucket all day. I will put a WIP up tomorrow. Anyhow this advance notice that I have officially made a start on the first of the Ork Kommandos today I painted the skin and tomorrow I will start to plan the look for the rest of the mini and infact the squad.

Yeah I am looking forward to this. I am painting a squad of these for GD this year and will be interested in your interpretation.

As promised here are a couple of shots of the first Ork thus far. Just the skin at the moment and I still have a little more to do to that in the odd place, I was thinking of going for a British Paratrooper kind of look but I don't know. I'll post more wips soon.

I have said this many times before, you are the master of orks. I love the way you paint ork skin. The skin is just awesome. Can't wait for more ;D

Right o guys this is an experiment, I have tried Urban Cammo on the shirt and to be honest I am not sure about it so I want your thoughts. If the general concensus is that it is cack then I will repaint the shirt altogether. Bear in mind that the back will be covered and only the front and sleeves will be the main areas visible. Like I say if you don't like it I am will repaint it another colour.

I think the shirt sleeves look ok, the back looks a bit naff but as you say will be covered.

it's great idea and as orc have no idea about dress sense it makes sense! ... but it is difficult on the mini, for me it needs a couple of washes of graveyard earth, 1 to be a bit more harmonious 2, orcs don't suit white! The execution as a base is flawless, just the colour choices don't work for me..

Hmm. I like the concept, but it doesn't quite look right to me...

Well I looked at it and I have decided it is crap so I have gone over it again, I will have to give it some more thought.

Like I said I ditched the cammo and have redone the shirt, it still needs little more work but I am fairly happy with the look. At least now I have a direction to go in, I am going to do the webbing a dull green like Catachan I think this is a fairly realistic colour for webbing.

I like the beige much better than the camo, even though the camo also looked a bit cool, but don't suit orks that good. The brown pants are great too. Btw, what's webbing (sorry for being a ignorant norwegian )

Thanks Mikkel, webbing is the strapping and belt that holds the backpack and all the pouches and equipment.

Righty ho guys time for an update, I have decided now that I am going to make a concerted effort and really crack on with this squad so today I have been tinkering with the first one again, I have done some work to the face mask and straps, Obviously the strap over the front of the face is just a basecoat. Soon the fun bit will start when I start giving him some dirty rusty metals and a bit of gore too.
