Ok my vote is cast, all the entries are great and many thanks to all who took the time to enter. This was just for fun but I think I will send the winner something anyway. My choice was a very difficult one as all the entries deserve to win but I made my decision and voted for Rahz, this is my reasoning, firstly Rahz's Orc is cool I like the way he has painted it but more importantly to me is the fact that this mini shows just how far Rahz has come along as a painter of minis, every time he shows us his work he is getting better. Like I said the choice was a difficult one and any one of you could easily win so thanks again for entering this contest and good luck while the voting lasts.

I voted for Jabberwocky's BB Orc, as it just blew me away with it's vibrant colours, perfect for any BB team. Couldn't really vote for myself, that just wouldn't be fair, so lets hope no one else votes for thier own entry. ;D

Unfortunately I was not able to enter. I had opened a WIP thread and started the mini, but I was not able to finish the mini in time.
The descision was hard. My two favorites were menace and razh. Menace is a great artist with great skill and experience, and Razhburz is a young (but great) painter with much to learn. As Tim said, Razhburz have shown great progress, and even the fast progress is worth a vote.
But my vote goes to menace. I like the natural and realistic style, and the skintone and metals is awesome.
But everyone have a great entry, and everyone did a wonderful job.

Anyone who votes for their own work will have their vote discounted as that is not in the spirit of things. I can look into the polls and see who is voting so I will know. But I am sure that I won't need to do that.

And my vote goes to King Ulrik for his very seasonal santa Goblin. I voted for this one because it has the kind of ironic humour which I like. Cheers, Razh P.S. thanks for your kind words Tim and Mikkel

This was a tough choice, there are aspects of every mini that i really admire, in Raccies Orc I think the flesh has everything it should and is more in harmony with the atmosphere of the movie than a more worked model, normally a gloss finish would be a negative attribute but here it is perfect, well done Raccy. Bru's little Goblin is all that a nostalgic paintstyle should be with good attention to detail and effective colours for this little monster my only niggle is the base size, it's a taste thing and i'm not that keen on it spreading so far over from the original base size KU's convo was a breathe of fresh air, seasonal, entertaining but very flat in the paint surface of the reds, however yet again i'm having a go at basing, there wasn't enough thought given to it, especially the positioning of the figure, however thanx KU for entering this, inspirational all the same! Sorry gsg, but your entries look a little hurried compared to the rest There is only a difference of taste which is the best for me between Razh's & JW's, It ws great to follow both in the WIP's and even better to see them both finished. As i think both artists have improved lately i cannot make my choice on that point, both have technically improved and their consideration to colour and detail is evident.. i'm gonna be a real nob and pic jw's just cause i like it better and he is developing a cohesive style which presents well. 2nd to Razh, also a great figure but what's going on with the pics!! some close ups like the wip's would be cool

2nd to Razh, also a great figure but what's going on with the pics!! some close ups like the wip's would be cool yeah I knowwhat you mean, not the best pic and just one. my olnly excuse is that I thoght the locking date of the entries was on 31 not the 30 . I didn't have time enough on the 30 to take some better and closer pics and ended up with this one. Razh

I went for Menace's--though it was a hard choice because theres obviously nothing wrong with some of the other great entries. I was torn between Menace's and the blood bowl ork, butI think for me it came down to my dislike of the blood bowl mini, although it was painted nicely. Good work everyone!

Definitely a tough one here. I think Raccy got the reddish skin tone very well captured. Bruenor's gobbie skin tones were spot on. Menace's work was excellent as always. KU has a great base and I love the seasonal aspect of it. I really like the standard on Rahz's mini. Greenstuffguy's gobbie base was well done and the metallics on the snotling were nicely weathered.
In the end though, I think I would have to go with Rahz--I just think that standard is great. You'll have to share the recipe once this is over.

Certainly agree that it was a tough one to vote for.
The Night Goblin got my vote in the end, I liked the colourscheme and also thought he was well painted. The base was cool too.
Congratulations to everyone, but a special mention to the Father christmas Gobbo and the Bloodbowl orc, both of which very nearly got my vote. The gobbo for humour and originality (as well as the high paint standard) and the BB orc for exelent use of colours, beautiful paintjob and the attention to detail (gotta love those Nike Swooshes!)

Whee!! My first win in a painting comp. The irony of it is there are no prizes, hehe. I'll take the pride of knowing I squeeked it out against a great group of contestants. Thanks Tim for putting this on--I'm looking forward to the next contest.
