I ma beginning to plan the next Wom painting contest, I am going to theme it as "Paint an Orc" this is just going to be for fun and so there will be no real prizes though I may give the best effort something from my personal stash. The idea will be as the title says paint an Ork it doesn't matter whether it is fantasy or sci-fi, the manufacturer doesn't matter either. Also there will be no restrictions on showing it off. In fact the only restrictions I will make on this are that it has to be something you have started within a week or two of this post going out and that there will be only one entry per person though if you want to have multiple figures on one base then that is cool. Remember this is just for fun so there are no catergories I just want to see people paint something cool and show it off, oh yes and I think I will enter this one too.
So have fun all, and if you want to broadcast it about please feel free to do so.

The competition sounds cool, but I don't think I will enter. I started an Ork nob for the first WoM painting competition, but didn't finish him in time. But the ork nob is too old for this competition (a pity really, because i think this is going to be my best 40k ork to date). And I will finish all my current painting projects before starting on a new one. I'm looking forward to seeing some orks. But most of all I'm looking forward to your ork Tim. Your WH40K ork minis is just amazing, and probably the only person that paints WH40K orks better than you is Allan Carasco ;D
Good luck to all the entrants!

Gobbo's would be fine, basically anything that is of the greenskin/ goblinoid nature.

If uruks is allowed, I might be able to enter this competition after all. I am working on a uruk army (haven't started to paint it yet though), so I might have some models that I can enter ;D

Uruk's are Orcs are they not? so I would definately say they are acceptable. I hadn't thought of Lotr Orcs to be honest I may change my entry as I have a few of that range myself.

I will enter an uruk if I get time to paint it. The only thing I'm concerned about is that I don't think my crappy camera can pick up all the small details, so the mini will probably look crap at the pictures ;D

I have some Heroquest Orcs to paint up for a commission......... but I would think I'd enter a 40K or WHFB Orc, as I do have a couple lying around.

Looks like we have some interest in the comp. In the next few days I will put up opening and closing dates so we all have a target to aim for. Remember this is just for fun so enjoy it and show us your progress.

I got one of the old Goblin Shamans. And it fits one of the Dragonforge resin bases perfectly (btw, thank you Tim). So maybe I will enter that instead.
And I can do some advertising on different web sites. The more the merrier ;D
