Definate progress, also remember that Lotr minis are alot smaller in comparison to 40k. Keep practicing and you will improve further. It always up to the individual how much or how far they want to take their painting but with more practice and learning new techniques you will be surprised how far you can go in a short time.

I think you underestimate your progress, CC. The second mini is much better than the first!

You've come on leaps n bounds CC... much better definition of area, cleaner paint application, and.... choice of mini! Just a laugh, the LotR Lothlorien Armoured Wood Elves are among my favourite all time minis and not the easiest to paint either...nor to get the correct colours! I was lucky enough to stumble across a fantastic reference in an arms and armoury book for LotR of the complete film costume and i've yet to see a mini replicated perfectly, there are so many variations... i have a wip, i'll post it soon, of what i believe to be as accurate as possible to the movie concept- failing that 'Fredy' has done one of my all time fave versions... it's actually not accurate but check this out; www.coolminiornot.com/15209

Thanks guys for making me feel a little better about my progress.
That elf was amazing Jnr, the paint job was just amazing, i'm a little dubious about the sculpt though. It does not seem natural to me.
