Hello all, This is, appropriately enough, my first post here. I was introduced to this site by Jabberwocky, he said this is a small but active site with some excellent painters. Sounds perfect to me! I'm not excellent yet but am trying trying trying... I've been painting since 2002. Here is my gallery, I've got some of the minis that I've painted up there, since the beginning: people.tribe.net/a4534f92-0735-4bf8-948a-8433fa926c8e/photosI'm an ESL teacher with a wonderful, indulgent (of my weird hobby) wife and a great lil girl who is almost 3. Got any questions about grammar? I'd be happy to discuss them! Michael

Welcome to WoM mate.
I would be happy to discuss some grammar. I'm norwegian, and I got an A in english, so I would like to test my skills against an english-speaking guy ;D
Cheers

Thanks for the welcome and the thumbs up for the painting. I love to hear comments, especially the critical ones, so feel free if you have the time and inclination. Charley, sorry, ESL is English as a Second Language. It's true that ASL is American Sign Language, so I can see how it might be confusing. Actually, I wonder what they call their sign language in England? ESL? That would be really confusing! Perhaps it's BSL... MutantPotato, I accept your challenge! I'll have to be careful, though, as everyone knows that Norwegians speak English better than Americans, and especially Californians. LOL

Glad to see you made it over here, Michael! As you can see, quite a warm welcome. I love it over here . And I might take you up on learning Japanese, hehe.

Whoa, who said anything about teaching Japanese?!? I need to learn it myself before I do that...and since I have lived with a Japanese speaker for over 6 years and still can't really speak it, my prospects for learning it soon don't look very good. I can sit and explain Japanese to you for hours on end, if you like. Just don't ask me to make a sentence! That's what you get for studying linguistics instead of the language... Thanks for the welcome, by the way.

Ahh, hehe--that's what you get for assuming things. I knew you had married a Japanese girl, and I figured it was in some way related to your ESL. What do you teach? Spanish to English?
