I think the camels rock as do the minis in general but i do agree that the soldiers really don't fit in the "lotr-mythology", IMHO.

Fudging rubbish, even for LOTR minis.

Well I am not that concerned about the camels having hooves this is fantasy and Tokiens beasts were alike but unalike real animals in real life. Oliphaunts and Wargs were not meant to be excactly alike Elephants and Wolves but the models themselves are aweful. I think these are the worst Lotr models that I have seen them make to date.

Looks like the are based in a desert enviroment, and hooves are crap for running over sand, that's why camels have the split toe feet, I'd have thought hat they'd have done a little research, just a tiny bit, all the other stuff they do has to be real world workable, like tanks and stuff......

Maybe so but there is no real information on some of the Northern Tribes of Middle Earth, also as Matt has already mentioned there is no mention in any of the histories that I have read either of any animals resembling camels. Verdict = crap they will not be on my shopping list. Lotr I fear is dying a slow painful death with GW.

I hate the camels, I really do. the foot soldiers look nice though but they doesn't fit into Middle earth if you ask me...

Yep I agree entirely, they are just adding things now, I'm not as well into LOTR like Matt, and yourself, and have never really gone for the minis, but if I were a newbie, they'd put me off the game before I'd started.
If I want camels, I'll go to Ebob.

I really don't like these minis. I don't think these minis got much LOTR-ness in them at all. I agree with you guys, GW seem to just add more and more things to the LOTR universe. I mean, why would a LOTR fan buy this stuff, when he can choose from so many other great stuff srom the LOTR range.
