Here are some pictures of the new Dark Angels. I have been waiting for the Dark Angels for god knows how long, and I'm pleased to see some pictures of them. I found the pictures on the warseer forums, thanks to Brimstone and Resurrection40K. Personally I'm a bit disappointed with the two captains, they don't have a striking pose, and I don't like the cloaks. But after seeing the concept art (not displayed here, GW removed alle the pictures from the internet), I hope theres more to come. Two Dark Angels captains: Some of the Dark Angels models: Some concept art: More concept art:

Mmmm mixed feelings, while I like the Captains I do feel they look too static, the cloaks don't look right to me but I will probably still end up getting one of them. I am however keen to see the new Death Wing termies.

GW must hate releasing this sort of stuff--they have very able sculptors who must do static poses and shallow details because of GW's crusade to go into all plastic minis. The terminators and tank and dreadnought look more or less the same as the last edition. This is a shame becuase I think GW should strive to improve design on each new release.
The plastic quality (if these are metal I'd be pissed) casting is now about comparable with what metal gave us in the mid-80's and thats what these look like. Not a good sign.
I assume that for such a huge company metal prices became too expensive but GW should try to work out some better method of casting in whatever medium becuase the way things are going their quality is actually decreasing. Perhaps if these were multi part plastic they could be much better. If these were relased by a smaller company than GW I don't think anyone would buy them.

Static is the word but still cool nonetheless, just one little thing, naye, big thing, i absolutely loathe back banners Yeah, I agree, the backpack banners is one of the most stupid things GW has created. Noone would ever wear a huge banner on their backs in a war, it would decrease your moveability and it says "I'm here, shoot me!" Here are some more pictures: A dark angels libarian A veteran or command squad Ravenwing bikes and Deathwing terminators The whole Dark Angels army A devastator dquad

Pretty cool minis here, but yeah, static is definitely the word to describe them.

Not only are they static but they're no better than the last range. As the mini sculpting market has picked up in the last six or so years since the marine bikers came out you'd think GW would try to keep up. I started with GW in the mid 90's and I though they were amazing--but by now they're just ok.

I'm less interested in the DA minis than the Codex. I've been considering doing a "counts-as" DW army, but from the rumors I've heard, I may just be doing a "Lysanderwing"-type army.

I have to agree with you guys. I have been waiting for the new Dark Angels for years, but I have to say I'm a bit dissapointed. The Dark Angels was the first of all Space Marine chapters, and should be unique and look different shan any other chapter. To me they look just the same, but with robes. Another thing that I'm quite upset over, is that GW are still using the old bike sprue that dates way back. As far as I can see, they have just added wings to the bikes, nothing else. I wish GW would sculpt some of the minis from their old artwork. This guy (in the middle) is a personal fave:

I love the Libby Terminator, although the shrine on his back will have to go. The MotRW on jetbike is a nice model too. I like that the jetbike sort of resembles the BFG ships.

I like the terminator librarian, though his head seems rediculously small and low down. I've never had a problem with those shrine things. The jetbike is a bad picture but looks nice, I was reminded of BFG ships as well.

The libarian is actually pretty good, and it's nice to see that GW can still produce good quality sculpts. I think GW has scaled down the head a bit to show that he is wearing a large termie armour suit, and maybe the head look even smalle because he is wearing the large psychic hood.
The master of the ravenwing looks awesome too, but I would like to see him mounted on a bike instead.

I have to say that I think both models are awesome and possibly the best SM sculpts for a very long time IMO, I will definately be gettin bothof these when they are available.

GW manage to overprice their minis yet again.

They expect people to pay for plastic what they might for metal (still to much) on the premise that quality is the same, but obviously it is not, just look at those guys . They need to work on this, I'm sure these won't be big sellers.

Well, I wouldn't be so sure of that. There are lots of Dark Angels gamers out there with enought money to have every single mini in their army is robes like that. And I would guess you would have at least 30 minis in your army, that's six of those boxes And many gamers are brainwashed zombies and buy whatever GW release

If i was sure i was going to paint everything and wanted to collect a DA army, i would spend the extra on getting the models with all the robes and such. Just for that extra effect. Im sure they won't have any problem selling them, even my little brother is getting them now!
