I have been thinking about this alot lately and it has been on my mind while I have beren painting my latest mini, who is your favourite mini manufacturer. For me it used to be quite simple Grenadier, and then Games Workshop but since the internet has become such a driving force in peoples lives and more and more mini manufacturers are only a click away it becomes increasingly difficult to choose one. For sure GW are still high up on my list and Grenadier will always be up there too but I now find myself turning more and more towards companies like Rackham and now Ilyad Games. So how about you guys, who and why?

I growed up with GW stuff and it will be always on my heart and i think that still now Gw produces high quality minis. So i think i must name a company excluded Gw. At first glance i would say Rackham but surprise i discovered i hate to paint their minis, simply because it's frustrating to cannot reach the quality of the rackham catalogue. So my answer is: Reaper i've discovered this mini company very late but i must say i like a lot the sculpts and the great range.

I grew up loving the Grenadier range--my all time favorite orc clan were the Orcs of the Severed Hand...
Since I picked up the hobby again in '02, I get primarily Reaper minis. I like the broad range they have. I do have a few GW LoTR minis, but have never really gotten into the Warhammer or WH40k lines. I like Wyrd minis as well, but that is as much for Nathan Caroland as anything--he is a great guy! He runs a class act in my opinion. He has surrounded himself with extraordinary people. Ritual and EricJ are incredible painters and very friendly as well. Edgar Ramos has done a stellar job on the sculpts too.

For me GW and Reaper are my favourites, so i'll have to go with Reaper.

I'm a GW fan... i know it's a bit sad, but i like going into the shop, chat with the guys there and browse for ages... but it is the quantity, quality and diversity that they offer which keeps me going back.... If i was to name another it would be for one mini alone which i still haven't got the nerve up to start painting... Andrea Miniatures' Ithrandir Rackham are good, but i only like a small selection of their range, as yet i haven't painted any Ilyad, but i have a feeling when i do i may not be at GW for a few months

I have to say GW, because it's the only manufacturer I've tried! I want to try other manufacturers, but GW is different. As menace said, it's so nice to drop by the GW store and talk to the staff and just walking around in the store, looking at the minis in the dicplay cabinets etc.
GW also have such a large variety of minis, and they have something for everybody's taste. And the gaming nights is also very nice. Even if my opponent beats me, it's nice to chat about minis, and learn tactics and get painting tips ;D

ATM Perry miniatures for their realism, Reaper for the details. And GW LotR, i don't like WH and WH40k so much( except when they're nicely painted)

While GW has some stuff of a truly exceptional standard--Vostroyans from 40k come to mind, my favorite mins are from Thunderbolt Mountain, Tom is a beast. Perry minis are also very cool.

for me GW arn't in my good books at the moment as for me they have gone very down hill - and what pushed me away thruver was another price increase. now i prefer to buy from little companys and support them from now on as IMO they need money more than a big hungry manufacoring machine. anywho my favorte company at the moment is EBOB miniatures - as i have never seen a miniature that i have not liked and i almost have every miniature he has made just to need to order some of the newer stuff and find some outpost 31 mini, then im set for every ebob mini thanks
