I thought I would start this thread off as I have just hed the devil's own job of sticking the axe back on my latest model, originally it had broken off whilst coming throuth the post but I thought ok not to worry it will repair ok, wrong it took forever and caused alot of damage to the paintwork on the way which I have had to redo a couple of times now, thankfully it is ok and the axe is now on, but it came very close to ending up in the bin I can tell, so how about you have you ever had one of those days?

Yes. Not really mini related though. It was my second day of work, I had learned much more than how to do basic transactions at the till. My boss had to leave the store, and as soon as she left we had a huge rush of customers, with about 3-4 all asking for special things (returns, discounts, all sorts of things I didn't know how to do yet), and they were getting really frustrated and I was getting really frustrated, and I made 3 or 4 major mistakes on transactions that screwed up everything in the system. It wasnt good. The boss had to come in and fix everything that night after we closed up. I felt pretty crappy. Almost quit too. Glad I didn't though (free GW new releases a month before scheduled release to paint for display, I get to keep them after too).

i hate it when your frustrated so you put some music on and get the ol brush and paints out and start clearing out that dusty backlog.
then it happens
a sudden muscle twitch causes you to put a brush mark over that piece of 10 highlights cloth which has taken you a good portion of a day to complete, when you try to wipe it off it just gets worse and worse! you then put the mini down (or throw it at the neighbors cat in my case lol) and walk out your room more frustrated than you were when you walked in.
there is the old "woops i squeezed this super thin super glue too hard and now i have glued my brand new 50 quid mumak to the desk"
generally i get those bad days when i least want them to happen

Ha ha, i got one for you. I was at work having a good day so far right. i get a call on my cell phone from my wife. She didnt sound like she really wanted to be calling me. I asked her right away what was up. there was a long pause before she relpies, "Its about your desk." The one spot where the kids know better than to play around. i already had a bad feeling. To get to the point, The desk took a long fall to the ground as did all my minis i have ever painted sitting on the very back of the desk. About 25% survived the fall. All others were broke, chipped, or fubared. Kids will be kids right. Not around my desk they wont. They spent the night outside that night. Not really. The wife was able to calm me down enough and we all went out for icecream.

I don't want to experience that, Antnol, must have been an awful day. My most recent cursed mini story is the Banshee I posted also in the WiP section. It has fallen twice, left arm bent, the elbow flattened, paint chipped off several places and so on. I repaired that after a few month of break, I even had to file the elbow again into shape. I then tried to paint the lantern, and it's light on the clothing... of course I screwed up and had to repaint a fair piece around it. This mini is cursed, I'm happy when I finished it

hmmmz... I've had a couple of those days.
Chipping a mini right before taking a pic. Dropping a mini while painting. Breaking something off during cleaning.
Most recently I had worked a whole afternoon on a red armour. Finally got it right, and I was very pleased with the result. I had the mini mounted on a empty GW paint pot. I reached for my water to clean my brush, and the sleeve of my shirt gets stuck behind the mini's sword. So I knocked it over right into a pool of thinned black paint that was on my pallette. Ruining the left side completly.
Also pinned fairly deep into my thumb once, because a drillbit broke off. And a couple of weeks ago, I got superglue in both my eyes when opening a new tube (too much pressure on it). But no harm done, I managed to keep my eyes open with my fingers and rinsed them with a lot of water.

Not had a bad day in a long time. Any day where you are not getting shot at is a good day.

Just had another one. Again not painting related but definately just one of those days. I spent the weekend in Edmonton (where I'm from, but about 5 hours from where I currently live). Today I took the bus home. I left my keys in Edmonton. The keys that open the store I work in, and to top it off I'm the only one working the next three days because the rest of the staff are out of town. Oh. It gets better. My luggage also dissappeared from the bus. The bag with my clothes, bathroom stuff (toothbrush, razor, etc.), and a brand new nearly irreplacable cd is gone. Now there's a chance that whomever took it will realise their mistake (hopefully it was a mistake) and bring it back to the depot tomorow. I really hope they do, otherwise I'll have to spend close to $200-$300 to replace it all. Yeah. Great day.

When I was painting my Lord of Nurgle (see my gallery), both of the arms broke off. I was so close to throw it in the wall, but I'm glad I did'nt. Right now my dad is fixing up my room, so all my painting gear is stashed in the attic, I haven't painted in four months or so, so basically every day now is like that
