Hey guys, been a long tiem since ive been on this site but I came across the link and remembered the pleasent community on it so I though id pop back on
Ive been busy over the last few months, placed as a finalist for GD06 which I am very happy with, I know my models werent big contestors but im happy to have walked away with atleast something, had a few good battles aswell ;D From there I have been trying very hard to improve on my painting, not so much that it makes it like a job, but seeing an improvement in each model gives you inspiration to keep going so im trying to keep on focus.
So, enough of my blabber-mouth, I have been painting the White Council recently, done half so far, pictures to follow:
Im rather happy with this model, for this one I experiemtned with bright extreme contrasts but trying to blend them together, I think it went ok but despite not being realistic at all, I prefer it. Any comments would be great
The next is Galadrail:
Again, I am rather happy with the effect I set out to acheive, I wanted it to look like the ghostly dark green from the scene in the film and I personally really like the look of it. I also used this as a chance to try dark extreme highlights. The NMM needs much more work to it I know that, any comments would be great again
Then, lastly is Thranduil, my best model to date:
I cut down on the contrast a little and focused more the the NMM, I think the NMM came out quite well, the gold is much brighter out of the photo but it along with the silver NMM (especially the shoulder armour) needs some more work, so Im going to focus on light sourcing more from now on, any tips would be wonderful peeps ;D
Anyway, sorry for the long post but its been a while and if you actually read it all then I thank you for your interest and consideration
