Hey Vinny, Nice start , feel free to post wips here ^_^, just a suggestion, as far as i see his right foot isnt touching the ground, try bending and opening the other leg, if it's not too late, that way both feet will touch the ground, if you cant, try adding some extra ground under the right foot, so it can touch the ground. Enjoy! Edgar

Thanks for the comments guys. Got some more painting done today, so, I can post a couple more pictures. Got the first series of highlights done on the mutants skin. The more I paint them the more I like these two models. Even though the mutant is mostly skin, there is some really great details. The scavanger heavy is also full of details, I especially love the ragged trousers on the left leg, very well done Edgar. Also did a little bit more work on the scout squad, which is my second space marine squad in the paint an army in a year contest. Juggling lots of things at the moment. Thanks for the tip Edgar, I must say I noticed it too and must go back and fix the leg. Should have really done it before the painting started, but I was so looking forward to getting going I didn't even notice.

Great thread and nice to see the progress on this one.
Vallejo Glazing medium is sold in the vallejo model color range. I find it the most usefull medium to the point that I thin every paint in every step of painting a mini with it. It works as a flow improver and as a slight drying retarder (but not as a typical retarder which slows the drying time too much and makes the paint layer very weak). I have tried lots of mediums before like Magic Wash, Future Floor Wax, mixed up my own with water, drying retarder and flow improver. Vallejo glazing medium beats them all. For the way I work it is the best medium I have found so far.

A quick update. I'm debating if I should add more highlights to the skin, so any ideas would be most appriecated. So far i'm happy enough. The teddy bear will be next I think. The more eagle eyed amoung you might have spotted that I changed the position of the mutant around to try and make the leg sit on the ground, which I think i've achieved.

Looking very nice mate, the skin on the first one would certainly take some more highlighting. If you have pallid flesh then adding very small amounts of that to your skintone and then highlighting towards where the skin would be getting more light will really make it pop. For instance towards the knuckles of the hand and towards the upper parts of the cheeks that sort of thing.

Hiya guys, A quick update on the progress of my Lamenters Libby, getting there slowly but surely. The blues, yellows, whites and flesh is more or less done. The metal still has a way to go and i've done a bit more since this photo was taken. I must also get the bone area's and silver area's done. Should be done by the end of the month, fingers crossed!

Thanks Bru! I think your right Tim, i'll see what I can do this evening. I've the rest of the month to get him finished and being my HQ I should lavish a bit more time on him.

Yep Zap.
I think one of the major reason's i've held out on doing this army for so long is that i always found yellow to be a really hard colour to do. But the foundation paints have been a god send. Mainly because if you see my unpainted marine box it could be the famed Rainbow Marines i've inherited so many differently painted squads over the years.
It would be killer to get yellow to cover the various blacks, reds, greens and blues my army is being made of.
