I know I have quite a lot of WIp threads floating around. but I like the idea of wip threads. it makes me improve my skills So here is a beastmen Shaman I just have started to paint. as you can see painting light clothes. But is good practice. I'm planning to have this head somewere on thebase. its from the giant sprue. C&C are welcome Thanks for looking, Razh P.S. Sorry for the dark pics. I will take some better ones soon.

Looks good thus far. The clothing is starting out nicely--I might suggest a glaze or two to help smooth the transitions on some parts. It is a bit too early to tell, but be sure to add some extra contrast as you go along to break up the skin and clothing. The brown of the skin and the brown of the clothing are fairly close together and at this point seem to run together a bit to my eye.

Looks good so far, I love those classic beastmen.
For one second I thought you'd sculpted that head on a wire!

Looking good Andrè. Your style looks much like my own, but you paint at least 100 timer faster than me ;D For the horns I think you should start dark a the bottomn and highlight on your way to the top, but I'm not an expert on horns. Another tip is get a flat brush, and lay it on the horns across the stripes with little paint. It's easy and works well. Hope you understand what I mean, I'm not an expert in explaining things in english

He is really coming along, now... Nice work on the blood--I am liking that quite a bit. I think you are doing a fine job on the skin--the lighter muzzle looks very good, IMO. Good job on the green scarf, although there is a touch of the reddish paint on the left side.
I have a couple of suggestions, not so much on technique, but color. Menace and Tim could probably offer some better insight, but IMHO I might change a couple of things. The clothing currently has 4 colors going--gray hood, white robes, green scarf, and red-brown collar thing. I would change the hood to match the scarf. Along a similar line, the white and brownish shading of the horns blends a bit with the white and brown shading of the robes. Perhaps shading with gray instead of brown would provide a bit more contrast?

I had meant the horns, but I suppose either place would work. I thought the horns would be easier to shade than the robe.

Can't believe I didn't see this before! This is looking amazing Razh! Your painting has improved fantastically and will continue to do while you carry on!
The blood on the axe is very nice, and the green hood makes a nice contrast as Jabber said.
All in all, an amazing job there Andre!

It looks great. I really like the skin (or fur or whatever beastmen is covered with), I also like the green cloth and the robes. Great work, keep 'em coming!
I am amazed, you show great progress for every mini you paint, and you paint many minis. Every time I see a new mini from you it gets better. If you keep this pase you'll be JRN by the age of 20 ;D
