This does actually not belong strictly here, but I had fun watching it: The joy of painting from Bob Ross. It seems all so easy...

I just watched that from start to finish, bloody amazing, like you say he makes it look so simple but I bet it is not as simple as he makes it look.

Yeah, I seriously started thinking of trying it... At least I have that little bug at the back of my brain moving again, which normally is a sign of that...

I found it incredible to watch the picture unfold, to think that all that was done with large brushes and in no time at all, in fact he painted that whol image in about the same amount of time it takes me to base coat one mini.

Yes, pretty amazing. Don't forget, though, he didn't have to keep to any kind of proportions, or such, it's a kind of freehand fantasy land, where you can basically do whatever you want. With the neccessary experience in your pocket that goes obviously just like that quickly

Bob Ross's program is amazing to behold, but when painting minis I don't think you can afford any "happy accidents" as he likes to call them! I watched this everyday for two weeks, went out and bought some oil paints and brushes etc and could I do it - err no. I didn't prime the canvas, couldn't quite get the techniques right and basically the whole picture was like taking nearly a week to dry fully. It was all one big happy accident. I'll try again when I have got good at painting minis. So maybe in two years or so then.
