I voted on this a day or two ago, this is awesome but then if you look at all of Demon Colours work he has a masterful technique of smoothness and bright colour.

Nice pictures, fluffy's Artemis is just mind blowing, I bought one on the strength of that picture and when I got it and saw how small it was I thought how the f**k did she manage to get the modle to look like she has.

Yep had a browse the other day after it was posted on Frothers, nice to have them back in England, but £150, as a starting price for a commission, I have it on good authority that most scuplts don't get sold for that much!!! Great work tho, very talented pair, Mike's always been in my top 10.

To be honest for the quality of the paintjob that the McVeys can do £150 is a bargain. Go into any shop that sells ornaments and look at the price of some of the fantasy dragons etc. I have seen a range of dragons (cant remember what the range was called) priced at £250-£400 and the paintjobs were poor - mediocre at best. This kind of stuff is made in a chinese sweat shop and churned out like nobodies business. To pay about £150 for a piece of miniature art where many, many hours have been spent on it is a very reasonable price. If you want good art you have to pay for it!! Personally, if I was a professional artist/mini painter and a really good one of course, I would be looking to charge £10 per hour at the very least. Anyway, this thread is wandering off topic now so back to CMON spotting.............. www.coolminiornot.com/168812check it out.

Yes Darkenden is fantastic at making things look real and the horror aspect is portrayed perfectly in his work. The best example of this in his gallery is his Silent Hill diorama.

That is awesome, I remember him posting it in the forums. I have the mini and the detail is soo fine, I just can't imagine how difficult it must have been to get that much out of it.

I'm saving up a little money to get me some death korps, the detail on them seems to be amazing. must be a joy to paint.
