why thank you manicminer, but in all fairness you are gettin the minis at a fraction of the actual cost of the minis, not even including the actual value of the paintjobs, i think the overall cost is quite fair
just curious did u find the auctions from here?

Hi Darkmessiah Yes I did find the auctions from here and on Frothers too.It is a shame they did not sell for more.I have listed things before thinking they would do well but did not. Just winding you up about the postage costs from the above post.

You are better off not putting reserves on, that tends to put people off. It is better to start the bidding at a fair price then people either will or won't buy the item. Hiking up the postage cost to cover the price of an item is actually against the rules and ebay can come down pretty hard if they get complaints of that happening though it doesn't stop it from going on. The trouble is that you takes yer chances on their and the painted mini market at the moment is flooded with stuff so that inevitably drives the prices down. Still I hope you get a decent price for Leo looking on the Cmon auctions page it already has a couple of bids.

Hi Dark I think it was on Frothers of Bartet Town.I go on that many it is hard to keep track. It helps to post on these sites as it gets you more bids. Some people might be put off by the bases for gaming purposes. They will sit next to my Jim Bowen painted miniatures.

I agree with MM and Tim, Firstly I think you have suffered as they are mostly display minis. Minis that can be used for display or gaming do tend to sell better in my own experience, against strictly display. Now the postage thing is a very sore point with me and had I bought from you and recieved a mini that I had say paid £5-7 (which most character minis are nowdays, and you say that your postage costs will cover the actual cost of the mini now) postage on that came with a £1.20 postage mark on it I would ceratinly contact you for a refund, and if I didn't get said refund I would def report you to Ebay for a breach. I have had my fair share of postage hikers, and paid well over the odds even including the actual package costs, and have had no choice to report those too and in some cases have got the difference back. You may also notice that folks will not bid if the postage cost are too high, I know I won't. You take the risk of selling at auction and theres no guarantee of a sale or even one at a price you are happy with, thats the gamble. As Tim has suggested start the price at one you are prepared to let the item go at and if it doesn't sell then you have it to relist rather than the bad taste of something going at a silly price and leaving you unhappy. To be a little Brutal, and not wanting to upset you, but have you considered that tho some were winners or finalists in contests that they didn't go for high prices due to your personal style/touches? I'm not saying that you can't paint, as I would be dead wrong, but you do seem to add personal touches like the flowers on the Orks base pipes, and the "I love Dark" on the Gerbil Girl's base. If you really want to sell painted stuff, leave that personal stuff off and go for a popular scheme, then they will more than likely sell, don't rely on the fact that some contest judge liked them. The most I've made from a single mini was £35 for this: By no means my best painted mini ever, but a couple of folks liked it enough to bid against each other, and the base was just the sand one you see in the pic. Very plain and no personalisation on it at all. Sorry for the rant mate, just hope I've helped a little.

i can see where ur coming from bru, honestly, the pieces that have been sold wern't marked out for ebay, they were personal projects for me to try out new fun things (like pretty much everythin i sell, i dont consider myself an ebay painter, am just a guy who sells a few things now and again), so I can understand why the prices didnt reflect the effort thats been put into em and thats fair enough. The starting price is somethin I will change, I have had alot of success in the past with it, but from now on ill be listing everythin double the value of the mini, thats generally the price am happy to let somethin go for. also from now on ill look to keep my more personal stuff or sell it privately.
As for postage i stand by my policy, its a fixed rate, its not changed for over a year now, its sent via recorded delivery as soon as am paid and iv bought specialist packaging for my minis to make sure their not broken in transit. perhaps theirs scope to reduce them as the starting prices goes up but for a mini thats started at 99p i think its a very fair postage price, and no, am not making a large profit on postage, after taking out my costs am left with very little...
as for manic's case, i was very clear about the postage at the start of the auction, it wasnt raised, it was a fixed rate, if manic felt it was too higher price he should have contacted me before placing a bid to clarify the price and possibly negotiate a lower price. if manic feels he didnt get value for money he is perfectly welcome to address that in my feedback, lowering my points for postage price, but I am quietly confident he will feel he has had value for money with regards to his minis and the final price he paid for them
