After re-reading through this thread I think we just go with the original idea - a mini mounted on a plain black base. I believe it to be a fair rule and all comps have their restrictions by which we enter and have to adhere to or be rejected.

Yep I think so I think that the plain black base rule will stay. I am hoping to offer a very good set of prizes for this one so if you want to win a real nice prize then you will have to go with it.

been reading this in the spare five minutes that i get every now and again and i totally agree with just having a plain black base as its solely about your painting skills not your basing skills and hope i can actually paint something for it and enter

Not yet though it will be soon, there are a couple of other contests about at the moment. I'll probably be looking to start around the beginning of August through to sometime in September probably the beginning.

Still haven't decided on dates yet but will get to that soon, also to answer your question Andre this will be anymous the reason being I am hoping to be able to offer some good prizes this time and so with that in mind I think that to keep it WIP free is going to be the best way.

Sounds good to me--the major American contests (i.e. ReaperCon, GenCon, and the last of the GD's) will be over and it will be before the slew of Halloween contests. Not sure about the European majors, though.

No need to feel guilty just paint your best and see if you can win the prize. If I couldn't do it I wouldn't so there is no need to feel guilty. I will try and get the rules written up this week and get them posted by Friday.
