We will begin with a 500 point army. Pieter Von Carstein (w/ flying horror, summon creatures of the night) = 145 points 20 Zombies (w/ musician and std bearer) = 92 points10 Skeleton Warriors (w/ shield, light armour, spears, and full command) = 110 points 10 Crypt Ghouls (w/ Crypt Ghast) = 88 points 3 Crypt Bats (will count as Fell Bats) = 60 points TOTAL = 495 points And, to start us off, I will begin a bit of background for this army. As I complete the units they will get there own piece of history right here. THE BACKGROUND: Pieter awoke in a daze, as if he had been asleep for an eternity. Shaking the fuzziness from his head, he scanned his surrounding to find that he was inside of a crypt, though where the crypt was he could not recall. Raising from the coffin in which he lay, he knew one thing for certain, that the voice he could hear inside of his head was very familiar. The Shambling Horde: These recently deceased members of Stirland's countryside shamble to do Pieter's bidding. Comprising of farmers and outlying soldiers, Pieter has successfully raised them as guardians to his tomb while he regains his strength.

Well I know nothing about army lists but from what I can see in your photo it should look pretty cool with the mousekiller treatment.

very cool, excellent paint job on the zombies, though I really don't like the sculpts themselves all that much.
If you want undead wolves in your army (I don't really know much about warhammer armies but I think these are a viable choice) gamezone came out with some pretty amazing ones a few days ago that would look great painted.

Nice work so far I certainly like the look of the Reaper zombie and will watch this with interest. I hate painting zombies so I wish you luck mate with this.

Just so you guys don't think I have completely abandoned the vampire counts... I have been working a little on them as well. This guy is still WIP, and coming across as a bit shiny from the brown wash I gave him. I would say he is about 60% done at this point: Also, I need a bit of your help to decide which vampire to go with... whoever we pick will have to equal 150 points or less. The first one is the new Winged Vampire from GW: Winged Vamp at GWI would likely give him the Flying Horror and Summon Creatures of the Night special rules. The second one is the old Necrarch with Staff from GW: Necrarch at GWI would likely give him Forbidden Lore and Lord of the Dead The third one (disregard the painting as he will be repainted) is Gastaroth from Reaper: Gastaroth at ReaperI would likely give him Avatar of Death and Infinite Hatred The fourth one is Garavank the Ghoul King from Reaper: Garravank at ReaperI would likely give him Ghoulkin and Summon Ghouls So, tell me which one you guys think should lead this merry band.

Not much more done on this army since the last update, as I have been concentrating a bit on finishing up the gobbos. Public opinion seems to be weighing towards the winged vampire, which I also think is a pretty unique and interesting model. Should be a lot of fun to paint.
I did spend some time compiling a full list of all the stuff I have in the way of vampire counts.... beware though, it is a bit character heavy... and comprised of GW, Reaper, Confrontation, Gamezone, and a few other miniature companies.
Zacharias the Everliving on Zombie Dragon Melkhior on Winged Nightmare (I suppose it could be an abysal terror or a hellsteed now) Mannfred Von Carstein on Steed Vlad Von Carstein Konrad Von Carstein Heinrich Kemmler 20 Vampires 8 Mounted Vampires 1 Vampire on Hellsteed 9 Necromancers 1 Mounted Necromancer 1 Wight Army Standard Bearer 8 Wight Kings 5 Mounted Wight Kings 1 Zombie Dragon 55 Skeletons 20 Pirate Skeletons 64 Zombies 14 Dire Wolves 30 Ghouls 4 Bat Swarms 2 Corpse Carts 16 Grave Guard 9 Hell Knights 10 Fell Bats 4 Spirit Hosts 5 Blood Knights 1 Vhargulf 5 Werewolves 8 Wraiths 5 Banshees 1 Black Coach...
To equal about 17,155 points if my math is correct.

Hello all. Well, I am going to try my best to at least give a weekly update on this blog. The going may be slow, but who knows, maybe the extra posting will help me paint a bit quicker... Anyway, still working on the cricified base. Did a bit more on the skin of the guy with the heads, plus did a bit with his pants. Also, gave a purple wash to the bone guy, which I think has really given his green skin a very dead look. Weathered up the wood a bit also. Added a pumpkin (I know it is a bit corny, but I really feel pumpkins will belong as a theme in this army). Weathered the chaos helmet a little. I think that covers what I have gotten done.

Ok, quick update with the weekend upon us. I think I finally like what I am seeing to a certain degree. I still need to finish quite a bit, but my goal is to at least finish these three this weekend...

Quick update. Nothing done. Started on a crypt bat: And a few more zombies... the one with no leg will be on the same base as the headless one...

Ok, so now I am a bit conflicted. The storyline behind these Crypt Bats is going to be that they were once Vamps themselves, but lost almost all of the human part of what they were. So, that being said, lets talk about rust. Should I leave the rust on the weapon, or give the appearance that the Crypt Bats take better care of their equipment? Still a little bit more work to do (leather, weapon, base, wood, a few other things).... I did add a little rock wall to the base. Any other tips before I finish him up?

He looks done to me, nice base to! I am surprised by how many armies you have on the go and the rate you are cranking them out! I still have my space marines gathering dust and I am getting the painting itch again. Its hard for me to decide to sculpt or paint sometimes, I'd like to get em up done as quick as you!!

Ok, this is where we stand for this week. Here are the remaining zombies to be painted: And the next crypt bat, who still has a bit of work left to do on him: dogfacedboyUK1: I probably spend about 20 minutes a day painting, and maybe 4 hours a day on the weekends...
