Well we've all seen Suladan's sig's (and very effective they are) i thought i would post some graphics i made up. Iv been studying typography recently, and using it's form and natural flow to create images and feelings, this piece is called 'Mmm Skyscraper I Love You' and is built up from words and lines from the underworld song of the same name. I know alot of you will probably not like it (its a taste thing) but hopefully it will inspire you to use type creatively, i know what iv seen and read in the past few weeks has done to me. Graphic art is something i have been thinking about getting into more and more recently, I love that matty very well thought out.

I really like it. I think the idea is really cool, and the result is great. Must have taken ages to complete ;D I don't know much about art, but is this what they call modern art?

More of an illustration technique than an art, stuff like this is becoming increasing popular in Newspaper and magazines. This is inspired by a company called Tomato, who do alot of type work.
Really didn't take to long infact, i chose a font (garamond, fantastically balanced serif font), then wrote lines from the song and did some in Italic, bold, regular, changed the lead on some words, and then just copied and pasted the lot (about 12 phrases) then built them up into that shape. Took about 1hr ish. (not including the thought and design behind it, which was probably about 6hrs work on paper.)
For graphics now im working on making a book out of phrases from Harry Potter books, (making a magazine cover, so im headlining the new book release) using bolds to create shadows etc... Though that will take alot longer, but iv got the deadline for next friday, so i should get it done. (but i also need to make the front cover, and all the research and development to go with it lol)
Type really is an amazing medium, as im finding out!

I will be documenting the type book, for my college work, so i will post the steps up once iv done that. Will be the back end of next week though.
