Hey all!
As you all will know, WD has taken a turn for the worse when it comes to LOTR content. GW currently focuses neither on quality nor quantity.
I have taken it upon myself to create a solution, in the form of a LOTR hobby magazine. My aim is to create a high quality online source of artricles etc that will come out monthly.
I will need to gather around me a team of painters, terrain-makers, and general modellers. I know some may be quick to volunteer, but i'm only wanting those who work on a higher level.
So if your interested in helping out in one of the following positions let me know, buy posting some of your work here :
Figurine painter Terrain-maker Sculptor/Converter
Also I would like to be able to get somebody with knowledge on website creating and running on the team.
I currently have a few painters ( Tidoco, Tobold and possibly Tagron) but other than that this is reasonbly young.
Cheers,
Alex Alex

What's the amount of time one gotta put in?I could help out with terrain-making but am on a tight schedule..(kids, work, house..u know...) As on the quality of my terrain: Check my gallery on WoM or OR, that's up to you to decide..

Best of luck on this endeavor, Alex. I would offer my services, but 1) I am notoriously unreliable and 2) I paint at a snail's pace. I hope it goes well!

Alex, of course I am still on your list and look forward to seeing you get this off the ground. Would you still like to move your project here if you do then have a word with Suladan he will be able to help you also I will be setting up a site with a better webhost in the neat future so if you want I could have it incorperated there. We could make it password protected so that only those who are involved will see the content until you are ready to publish each issue. If that appeals to you then PM Glenn and get the ball rolling.

I probably could be of help. I don't know if my painting skills are sufficient (you can find my latest pieces in the showcase thread) but I have the plus of being a professional web developer.

if you need another painter, i can help
also have you thought about doing reviews?

Yes suggestions are great too! I have thought about reviews, and if a person was keen to do them, then its sweet with me. My role in the mag will be the editor, and the proof-reader.
Yep I'd love the project to get moved here, or to the next site whatever.
Drittz and Sul, i'm checking your work now.

Well my conclusion: Suladan, sorry, as a painter I dont think you quite make it , but I can offer you a position of doing monthly reviews. Drizzt, you might be there as a painter, but I cant judge properly unless I see a LOTR model. I would be more interested in picking at your web developing skills for the mag. Please dont feel offended, I wouldn't accept my own models in this level of a mag ( well not at this stage ). Also I'm doing reasonbly well for painters, I just need 1 more fully committed and another back-up. So calling all terrainers and sculpters/converters! Alex

Oh... BTW
Drumroll... Charlie welcome aboard as a terrain-maker. Your hobbit hole looks great, but the pictures could look a little better, something i'll talk about once we have a team together.
Tripple post lol

Thanks for the kind words Elrohir. I might have a LOTR mini for you soon. It's a good motivation for me to paint something from the series. Otherwise we'll talk again when you see fit

Funny you should mention Curunir. I've asked to be invovled but he doesn't like the idea of a deadline.
I'll check out your work sonny,
Alex

Just got a pro set up for photographing minis so if you need a painter i'd be very happy to... however armies would not be possible in the short term as i'm working on my own for now, but possible in the upcoming winter of Norway (about 7 f'in months of it!!)

i dont mind being a reviewer, but i cant afford to keep buying loads of minis and books to review then just put them to the side, i dont like spending too much money on minis cos i dont game.
