For a them mmm I don't realy know what to suggest, here are a couple of mine that I painted for my own project and this is the way or something like the way I'll be doing mine, ignore the bases as I won't be using Groundforge for this project. I think the thing with Orks is mainly anything goes, but browns and reds and blacks are very much ork colours as well as plenty of rust on metals and stuff like that, I will be painting my orks similar to this (I won't guarantee to hit that standard but I should be pretty close).

Tim, I love way you paint orks. You are my biggest inspiration source for orks, and it will be an honour of having my orks in the same army as you ;D
You have given me lots of tips on painting orks, and I'll paint the skin in the way you taught me in some PM's a while back. I'll paint the orks in my own style, but try to accheive some kind of similiarity to the rest of the orks. On the killa kan I'll paint the metals dirty with some rust here and there. I will also show that orks use different kinds of metals, and some metal rust more quickly than other. Therefore I will have some areas where the metals is almost completely rusted, and some areas where the metals is only slightly rusted. Some areas will be painted red or black, but with chipped and rusted metals. I will also try freehand symbols and some check patterns.

Oh yes, what is check patterns? Cheers, Razh The check pattern is alternating square blocks of colors. Most often with the orks I have seen it done in black and white. Do a search over at CMoN and you should be able to turn some up. I think I remember some Killa Kans done over at the GW site that had a checkered pattern as well.

I would very much like to know how you paint their skin This is the tip that I got from Tim a little while ago, and it worked out great for me. The colour is perfect, but I'm nowhere near as good as Tim ;D 1. Basecoat: Catachan Green 2. Shade: Catachan Green/Chaos Black 3. Highlight: Catachan Green/Camo Green 4. Highlight: Camo Green/Bleached Bone 5. Shade: Green Ink (though I prefer a thin wash instead)

Thanks Mikkel! I'll try that out on my next Orc.
I have been looking at the GW site and I saw that there is a number of different ork clans. Are we going for a special clan or just a standard Ork army?
Thanks,
Razh

I've been think ab it of making an orkish terain piece (if I get the time that is ) like a house or something ( have seen some exampels in WD that i'll use for inspiration, don't remember which issue though.) would this suit the army you think? or shall I leave the idea? I'll focus on the Boyz first though. please say what you think, I will not start to cry if you don't like the idea Thanks, Razh

I am talking with a carpenter friend of mine as well about putting together the suprastructure of some ruins as well--kind of like the initial steps of Dagorlad's piece, before he added the stonework and rubble.

Got some bad news....
I got stiffed on the Killa Kan. I paid for it, but it never shipped, and the user deleted their account from ebay. I thought I was pretty safe because they had completed over 2000 satisfactory transactions, but apparently they stiffed the last batch of sales and disappeared into the etherweb. Anyway, I'm down to just the two burna boys, and I'll finally be able to get started on them, now that we're completely unpacked.

Thanks Tracy for your offer of help, right I need someone who has a good knowledge of WH40K to structure this army go through the list of tasls and make some sense ofit. I keep saying I am going to do it but I never seem to have the time. I am quite willing to send the Codex book to whoever would take this on. I would be very grateful for help in this.
