I second that, Thanks to Tim, and all who have entered, great entries again!!
Plus I know it shpuld go without saying but, please lets have some fair voting as well, and not vote for our own entry, let others judge our worth, not ourselves. Keep it fair, as I'm sure the mods can tell, if folks vote for themselves.
Happy voting and great painting everyone!!!

A big thanx again to Tim who probably was up at the crack of dawn to put up this thread!
Well done all the entrants and as Bru said, let's be fair on the vote... for me, i'm going for Demi's and it's a completely subjective decision, but not an easy one !!!

It is my pleasure to be able to host these events and see what you guys come up with, I hope the voting will be fair and that people do not vote for their own models, I can tell who votes where. I am going to announce the voting on Cmon now to try and get more voters to give a good overview of opinions.

I voted for Thryth entry earlier this morning, I love the pastely styke colours and overall smoothness of the blending. The face is excellent.

That's some great quality entries there, good luck to all! No, I didn't get mine done in time, was belated as I mentioned earlier (really, really regret that now ), but I'll at least get it posted up in the showcase forum soon enough...

I tried also but to no avail. I have not put hand to brush for 3 weeks darn summer classes. I went for Rogue Trader's image. The weathering and the size of effort tipped the scale for me.I honor that effort and devotion. Lots of work to do and not share with anyone till now! I have a large model here that was for this and the time you invested I am empathetic with. You all deserve a round of applause and appreciation especially Tim & Dotty (for sharing Tim) big hugs/wonderful work! I am very glad to hear there will be more contests in the future!
Greenstuffguy-the top stack and the gems like green is great Bruenor great saw nice skin and a cute butt Kaine's the cloak shows the most promise and shading Jnr's His face...beautiful!,great osl, hard decision maker! Drevilmonkis Beautiful blues and best base for me Chemicalcaveman Chipping effect looks great for this brute [Demi's Wonderful tones best snow I have ever seen to boot too Thryth my hand was quaking above your circle, style/color tones on him, are outstanding! What a cool look! you rock, no joke!

I think this is the best competition WoM has had. The minis are of a very high level this time. Personally I like every single one of the entries, great work all of you.
But I have to go for Dennis'. The model is simple though Dennis has accheived a very dark athmosphere that suits both the model and the dark universe of 40K perfectly. I love everything dark and dirty, and that's why Dennis' mini appeals to me.
Good luck to all of you!

Great entries, everyone; truly some outstanding work. It was pretty difficult to narrow it down to just one to vote for.
Good luck to everyone in the contest!

@jnr: rrright... I must know reciepe for the olive/black of the servitor! *gets on his kneels and begs* Rise Sir Demi I hope I can remember this correctly. I worked it from Dark to Light Layers without using washes, so here is the mix; Base; GW Graveyard Earth & 'Golden' Acrylic Artists Colour 'Raw Umber' (Raw Umber gives a slight olive cast if used sufficiently, it is one of the most popular pigments used by realist artists along with paynes grey and you should be able to pick it up at any art store, I use Golden although any Artists Quality Acrylic should be fine enough, it is not any use as a 'colour' but is great for mixing and desaturating most colours except yellow), about 3 to 1 Highlighting, first add to mix in increasing amounts Graveyard earth until happy with the midtone, then add to the mix GW Kommando Khaki until it is almost just so. Finally i mixed a little Raw Umber with GW ChaosBlack and mixed it into an undiluted glaze medium, use v v very little pigment and dabbed it on to look like oil staining, i built this up in several glazes so it would blend in, If i can expand any points to help just let me know.

This thread seems to have cooled-off, so now seems like a good time... @matty1001 Thanks for the complements and your vote. I appreciate it. @tabstudio Thank you for your kind words. I was relatively happy with how it turned-out. Thanks to everyone else who voted for me. ;D

Yes the thread does seem to have cooled a bit, I think if there has been no more votes by the end of the weekend I will call an end to the contest and award the prizes and set up the hall of fame. Thanks to all the participants. The next contest is already in the planning stages so stay tuned.
