Mechanical, eh? Guess I'll have to hunt around and see if anything inspires me.

Well I see what minis I can find for this. I havent painted in weeks, just converting and sculpting. So this comp will be good practise.

Tim, can I make a WIP thread to show my progress if it is ONLY here at WoM?

I think the general consensus was no I was going to let WIP's be posted on here but I have had a couple of members ask for that not to be the case.

Tim so are you saying we can show the wip with the mini when its done and ready to be judged..or separate like a thread of what we did to them or..no not at all and the wip shouldnt effect the judgements of the overall work? ..I guess better to ask now before it really starts.

I think that WIP's should be kept out of this now and I have removed the option from the contest rules. If people want to show the work that went in after the contest has Closed And Been Judged[/u] then that is fine but it will have to be after the contest is all done and dusted.

Tim ok that settles that .. it would be nice to know though prior to judging if say someone completely sculpts/reworks a mini..who would know?..might be good to have a listing of what was done with the mini ..the reason I say this is alot of times paint jobs are so close its hard to judge but one might be majorly converted..to me that would swing alot more power in the impressiveness;)..just a thought.doable without a big wip thread.

Any models that have been converted in anyway Must[/u] show in the final image by inclusion in the image of the conversion work done to it, all photo imaging software has the option to either insert or stitch images so that should not be too difficult to do. If you cant do it send the images to me uncropped and i will do it for the person concerned.

That is ok if you do that mate then fine. I am expecting that people are going to enter this in good spirit and that these guidelines will be adhered to. If anyone sees something that I miss around the place then please feel free to inform me and I will deal with it. At the end of the day all I want is for people to have a bit of fun and have the chance of winning some cool prizes. Because there are prizes involved makes me have to tighten down on the rules a bit. But I still want to have a relaxed and enjoyable contest.

I'll have to dig around and see if I have anything that fits the theme. Most of my minis are more "organic" in nature than mechanical since I hate painting metallic stuff (because I'm horrible at it!) Ah well, can give it a shot anyway. ;D

I've got the same problem I'm thinking about using some GS to add mechanic parts.

I'm currently sculpting something that will, if I get it finished (that's a big if, but I'm hoping a deadline will spur me on!), be rather fitting I think.
Now I just need to post a bit here so I can actually enter right?
Shame I can't do a wip, that always seems to motivate me to get stuff done. Ah well, not to worry, it should be fun anyhow.

I think its a great idea not having WIP's anywhere, after all when voting on a piece, the artist of the piece will be anonymous, and if you have seen their sculpt/converion in a WIP you will know who has done what and the anonominity will be gone!
I have a few ideas in mind, but can I just clarify that only ONE entry per person is permitted for the competition?

Yep one entry, you may use multiple minis but it is only one entry just to make it easier to judge.

I have a question.
WE are not allowed to post WIP pics (or pics of the finished mini for that sake) but are we allowed to show them to some one in a PM asking for some advice???
Thanks,
André
