G'day mates Do you have any good tips for painting blood on axes? I am currently workin on a beastman, and I thought it would be cool with some blood on his axe. IF you have any tips please tell me Thanks, Razh

Red ink is the way I do mine, I simply apply it in streaks and let it dry and keep repeating this until it darkens, you do have to let each coat dry thoroughly, once I have a deep enough red on the area I am doing I then add a little black paint into the ink mix and pint this further in this if done right makes it look more clotted in places, I have heard that Tamiya clear red is good for blood too although I have some of this I have never actually tried it.

I do mine quite simply, the Ilyad Orc's base was done with a simple technique, basecoat Codex Grey, shade wash with Codex Grey with Chaos Black mixed into darken it. Then I just dry brush Codex Grey, Fortress Grey and finally Skull White.

I use oil paint for blood effects with a lot of turps, it dries real slow and i can work it around to exactly where i want it, i use cadmium red and a little black to darken it.

Rahz, I don't thin it down, I use it straight out of the pot.
