Here is a small tutorial on how to make the target for use with my new rules. Sorry about the lack of pics.
You will need
1 pence coin (or anoither coin about 20mm in diameter
Brownstuff or greenstuff
Warrior of Rohan shield (or something similar
25mm base (optional)
Glue
Tools
File
Sculpting tool (optional)
Lets get started
First of all, take your coin and cover one side in brownstuff, (greenstuff can be used but I found brownstuff worked much better). Use a sculpting tool to even out the putty over the whole area of coin. Try not to get the putty over the edge of the coin. If you don't have a sculpting toll then use your fingers. Try and get the putty flat, but don't worry if you can't, as we will file it later. When you have completed this part leave it to dry, overnight if possible.
Some hours later...
When it is dry, you can start to file it smooth. File in one direction, it makes it much smoother. Also file the edges of the coin if you have got putty on them. Once you are happy with it so far, do exactly the same with the other side, from putting the BS/ GS over it, letting it dry and then filing it.
The easy bit
If you thought that was easy, you are in for a nice surprise. Take a Rohan sheild (with the hole still there) and file it so it is smooth. Remember toi file in one direction. Once you've done that, take some superglue and glue it to the center of your covered coin. Leave it to dry for a minute...
Decision time
Now, this bits up to you. You can either make a stnd for your target (maybe out of left over sprue of cocktail sticks) or just glue it to a base. For my first target I chose the latter. You should know how to glue it to a base so I won't go into great detail about that, but just remember not to glue down the side with the shield on.
Finished
Well, thats it folks, easy wasn't it? Your thing should look something like this:
Then just give it a suitable paint job, and away you go!
