Tim suggested I make up a tutorial on how I made my rocks. So here it is. I have done an arch formation - mainly just for the hell of it. Using Fimo for the rock and two bits I broke off a fake log aquarium ornament. Step 1. Shape the fimo into the basic shape you are after. Step 2. Get your surfacing tools ready. Step 3. Use one of the log pieces as a support and the other to press into the fimo to give it the rocky texture. Using the support stops you leaving fingerprints. Keep going until you have covered the surface as required. Then you bake it and then you paint it. Here is a couple of painted examples. The end.

Good, Quick, and Easy. I havent tried it that way yet. I usually bake it after making the general shape and then chip away at it with something sharp, and then file/sand parts that I want to be a bit smoother. I'll give your method a try though. Looks great.

Thanks for sharing, a nice idea.
Leaves a lot of space for ideas, too. Using various texture elements can result in different effects. I could imagine using other kinds of stones, wood, bark or pressing it into aluminium foil.
