Read up various bits on the Rackham forum and it appears that with confrontation 4 rackham will be releasing the army regiment style mini boxes as plastic rather than metal. There will still be metal characters but apparantly less frequent. The plastics will be pre-painted but like AT-43 they should take a respray without loss in detail. Heres a shot of what is meant to be one of the first plastic releases. www.rackham-store.com/site/Newsletter/CAVALERIE_LOURDE.jpg

They are OK, but there's something about them that just looks a bit... plasticy I suppose! The Flesh Golem is the same. It has a lot of things I like, but there are a few areas that just scream 'I'm a plastic model and look this way because of the limitations of my casting!' I think it is partly because I have got so used to the fine, spindlyness of Rackham minis, these just don't match up.

Mmmm don't I remember somewhere that Rackham said they would not go down the range of plastics for their Confrontation range. I seem to remember this being the GW statement in the dust of the past too.

I agree Razh, the pic was to big - resized.
I like these as I don't particularly mind plastic minis, but I can see what you guys mean the limitations!

Sorry, when I do my own pics I make them 600px or less but as I was hotlinking to the Rackham page I didn't bother here.

I can't really see the difference. All the Rackham horse riders are actually pretty chunky. There is actually no technical reason for plastic to behave much differently than metal given computer drafting of models and cutting of dies.
