Well, now that my Wood Elf Lord is out of the way, I've started in on Kaptin Badrukk, which I've found is a very busy looking model with a bunch of little details i have to try and pull out. Should be fun

Doing some OLD school stuff. A coworker found some LoTR minis in a baggy in his garage from 1978. I think they are Uruk-hai orcs from the Mines of Moria based of the 1978 cartoon version of LoTR. The sculpt is pretty rudimentary, but I thought it would be fun to see what I could do with it.

I've not been painting anything of late as I just don't get enough time at home which to be honest is really starting to irritate me.

@tim--I hear you! @ SC--practice makes perfect, right? I am nearly finished with my OLD school sculpt Heritage Uruk-hai--it was originally cast in 1978!

Was working on my other Harlequins, but got completely side tracked when my Space Hulk set came in, and i got a fun idea for some space marine scouts. Harlequins are being put on a temproary hold, which when i think about it is rediculous since i only have to paint the upper half of one of them to have another completed model...oh well. For now, i'm working on one of the Space Hulk objective markers.
@tim - Sorry to hear about that. Hopefully things turn around for ya and you can be around the house more @jabber - 1978!? WOW!! Can't wait to see what it looks like

It's full steam ahead on the space hulk set! Brother Noctis is in the works right now, and i'm not sure who i'm doing next yet. One item from the box finished, many many more to go.

Look forward to seeing them scarecrow - when you are done you could then start replacing the card corridors with some nicely modelled corridors and maybe even some LED lights built into them!!!Just an idea....

I've still not managed to pick up a paintbrush seriously for quite some time now but I am hoping to do something before the end of the month.

!!! Space hulk is a games workshop boxed set . The first set came out in the...i think it was the early 80's, another in the early 90's, and then a 3rd edition came out this year. It tells the tale of 2 squads of terminators that are exploring a ship called the space hulk, and they end up finding a crap load of Genestealers. The 3rd edition only had a limited print, and once it ran out, that was it. I was lucky to get a hold of one The box set comes with a bunch of models (12 terminators, ~20 genestealers, and some objective markers) all of which are in custom poses depending on the back story of that particular character (One of the models, Brother Omnio is said to be very knowledgeable and driven by logic, so they depicted him looking at an auspex that's built into his power fist!). Probably a little more info then you really needed, but i'm quite enthusiastic about the whole set Oh! There's also thisThe set is also somehow managing to bring out my best painting

I've been doiong more to the dead Terminator from the latest Space Hulk game, this is going to be a complex model to paint but it is proving good practice to get me back into the painting game. I want to do this before returning to projects for other people as I am well out of practice at the moment and am finding that I am making some fundamental errors at this point in time.
Space Hulk was oroginally released about 1989 and was the first time that Terminators were seen as miniatures, two subsequent expansions appeared not long after "Genestealer" and "Death Wing" which further expanded the game to include psychic combat with Genestealer Hybrids and also Terminator Librarians. Some argue (me included) that this was the best version to be released. The later second edition came as a complete box set (no expansions this time) and a serious update to the models, there was also a later book of missions for the game.
This version mini wise is excellent I haven't played it yet but I can imagine from the brief look through the rule book that it is an equal to the previous editions.
Space Hulk is the best game ever produced by GW IMO.

The Halloween season is upon us, so I have started on a pair of minis for upcoming online contests. It will have to be hush-hush though with no WIP's unfortunately.

I've been continuing to re-familiarize myself with the process of painting miniatures. I am quite pleased so far with the progress made on the dead termie but still have a long way to go.

Only a very short time at home this week as I am back in Wales tonight for a major commissioning project on a new level crossing that we have been upgrading but I have managed a little more work on the dead terminator.

Brother Omnio is in the works at the moment, and i'm nearly done with the armor, though i've been a little more preoccupied with school and what not lately, so my painting has been slowed, which makes me sad.

Brother Leon is just about finished. Just have some very minor details to take care of, then the base and i'm done. Not sure who to do next, but if i do Gideon, i can have his full squad done. Hmm...quite the dilema...

Been working on my clean high elf and dirty ork boy. I must say, it's much more fun if spilling a bit of paint is no issue.

Well, I manger to finish off brother Leon tonight, and got Sergant Gideon all primed and ready to go. When I can get ahold of my camera again, I'll take some photos of Leon.
