500 Point Empire Army:
Luthor Huss - 180 points 10 Spearmen, with cmd and shields - 90 points 5 Handgunners (detached) - 40 points 5 Crossbowmen (detached) - 40 points (NO CMON LINK) 5 Knights Panther, with cmd - 155 points
So, some storyline to get us started:
Luthor Huss, a warrior priest of some fame in the Empire, was summoned to a secret meeting by the elector count of Stirland. In this meeting the elector count revealed that he suspected that some evil force was at work in his territory, and that he could not trust even those whom were said to be his closest advisors. Citizens of the providence were disappearing in the night, and the moans of the dead could be heard louder and louder each evening. Luthor was dispatched immediately for the province of Talabecland and into the capital city of Talabheim to speak with the elector count there, and with some hope to muster a force that might help to defend the citizens of Stirland from the creatures of the night.
The Flintloquers, Detached Handgunners The Flintloquers, or Taal's Flint as they are often referred to as, have seen almost every grand battle that the empire has been involved in. They are garrisoned in Talabheim, though they only maintain a full garrison in times of war. Feeling Luthor's urgency in these matters, Elector Count Helmut Feurbach agreed to muster the rest of the regiment and have them meet with Luthor in Stirland. In the meantime, he has dispatched these few to accompany Luthor.

Weekly update. Please keep in mind, nothing here is finished, feel free to give comments on how I can make them better at this point. I started up another handgunner. Also, added some blue to the first, in his feather and around the bullet casings. Hopefully the exposure on these is a lot better. Also, started painting up the knight. Not a whole lot done in the way of highlighting, but I am trying to get a feel for the overall color scheme. I think I have it.

All looks like it's starting to come together very nicely. Can't wait to see the final products. Armor on the horse looks awesome, by the way.

Well, another week has passed us by. I did a little more to the knight panther, so tell me what you think. Still quite a bit to do before he will be done. And here is a quick snapshot of what the 500 point army looks like right now. The orange spearmen will be completely repainted. scarecrow: Not a final product, but an update anyway...

Even if it's still a WIP, it still looks great

Progress report for the week... hmmm... started the other three handgunners. Pretty much base coated with just a few layers... no where near done yet. Also, started to paint the horse of the knights panther captain... And, added a few little conversions to Luthor Huss. scarecrow: Thanks mate.

Ok, I came close this weekend to finishing some things (I did finish some zombies and gobbos), but I did not quite get to finishing anything for the empire. I am very close on the handgunners, some leather and wood and they should be good. A little more work on the knights panther captain left to do, but he is close to being done. I also started the second knights panther this weekend. I will probably work these individually, just because I don't want to rush them. And, a base coat of metal and a base coat for the scrolls for Luthor.

Finished the detachment of hangunners, calling them the Flintloquers. Anyway, here they are (sorry, no CMON link, I will post them on CMON once they become an actual unit down the road a ways).

Hehehe, no idea what I was saying actually, just being facetious after a hard day of abuse at work where insults and jokes are traded every other 5 minutes - have to be on your toes with good comebacks etc lol. Mum jokes seem to be popular at the moment though.
Anyway, enough of my drivel as I m sure you have lots of painting to do and I'm looking forward to seeing the next lot......

Ok, here is the update for the Empire. Luthor, still a bit to do on him, but he is coming along. Any suggestions on what color to do the horse in? And I think I am going to call the Knights Panther Captain done... A few people have asked about how the base is done for this guy. It is pretty simple really. I use the cardboard backs from my Reaper Miniature blisters. I tear the top piece off, exposing the rough paper right underneath, then simply cut them into squares, glue, and primer. When I do the next base I will try to take a few pics to show what I am talking about. dogfacedboyuk1: Your mum is so fat, that when she lays out by the pool they have to close the Chunnel... (not your mum of course, she is lovely)...

Well, I am no longer in the comforts of my own home and am travelling, so you will have to excuse the length of time since the last update. In any case, these three are mostly done- the base still needs a little love, the faces need another highlight, and the wood still needs to be done. Anything else you would recommend?

I *finally* did a little work on the horse, deciding to go with more of a white color. The tail and hair and snout will be a bit darker (either dark brown or black, haven't decided yet). Also, got rid of the horrid designs that were on his skirt, I think a straight red will probably be much better on him then anything else. If anyone has any good ideas on something to do with the hem, maybe?

Luthor is coming along very nicely. The skin looks like it could use a little more highlighting, but only a little. For his skirt, maybe something simple to tie him to his horse, like a simply line near the bottom? Looking great mouse!
