Finally I have made time to start the Warboss! I decided I liked the mini and knowing that giving it away would break my heart (miserable bugger ) I traded for one identical to paint in tandem. This is only my 2nd greenskin, the first i did with drybrush, so i've spent a lot of time on just the head, relayering a few times to change the hue of the skin, intriquing but time consuming, hopefully now I have a formula I can get a move on.... Good to hear some thoughts;

Wow, very nice and natural scheme. If I would have to give one point of critique then it would be the fact that he doesn't look nearly dark enough. Orcs tend to have a darker skin colour than goblins/grots. This one looks a bit to light. He looks very good though. Cheers, Wolfie

I love it Dennis mate! The skin might be a little darker for a warboss, but its no big deal. The highlighting and layering really have paid off because the skin is looking amazing! I love the nice pink colour you have achieved inside the mouth and the ears. The ears especially because its not often you see that done.
Will be following this one

Looks great to me. I can't comment on the color as I don't really follow GW.

Update; realised the photos where rubbish, it's a bane.... so i decided to invest in a wee table lamp, the one with the flourescent tube, and gave it a go... i hope you can see the work better now and if i think it's better a little later I will have resolved my waiting for it to stop raining problems! Please give me some feedback on twhich you think is better...grovel, grovel...

Yes! Glad to see this one started, Dennis. Stellar work as always. I think the inside photos are better than the outdoor ones. Not much to critique at this point, but I am sure I'll come up with something obscure and nitpicky if you give me a chance...

Update, Warbosses log; Here's the bases painted. As you may be aware Dr. Evilmonkey designed the urban rubble base especially for the CiN project and Groundforge cast them for us, it's a great wee base, easy to make look good with not too much fiddly stuff and simple enough to mount the mini (just a bit of greenstuff needed)..all in all i'm well happy with it, well done Dr.E. The other base is another Groundforge item and a great cast, i'm keeping it simple as a Grot with 2 six shootas is going to the front (stole the idea from tim's gd orc!)

Looks very good so far. The face looks great, and the teeth are just fantastic! Personally I like the more yellowish look better, but this skincolour is very nice indeed. The bases look very nice aswell. Cant wait to see the main body painted ;D
